Mary Irene "Renee" Dwyer Ryan of Lake Wales, Fla., a retired registered nurse, died Monday, February 7, 2000, at The Grove Center. She was 82 years of age.
The daughter of the late Frank and Caroline Weisenbach Dwyer, she was born August 15, 1917, in New York City.
In 1927, the Dwyer family moved to Callicoon where Renee was raised. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Callicoon and a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
She is survived by her husband, John J. Ryan, at home; two daughters, Patricia Andrews of Tucson, Ariz., and Kathleen Ryan of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Kevin Ryan of Monroe, N.J.; two sisters, Marion Roche Sr. of Callicoon and Helen Hoffman of Elmira; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, John, George, Francis and William Dwyer and a sister, Caroline Dwyer.
A Mass to honor the life of Mary Irene "Renee" Dwyer Ryan will be celebrated on July 9 at 4 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Callicoon. The Rev. Fr. Ignatiaus Smith will officiate. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Interment of the ashes will be made at Holy Cross Cemetery.
