Interment Services for
Elizabeth Twining

Interment of the cremains of Elizabeth Twining, who died August 24, 2000, in Lewes, Del., will be made at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Evergreen Cemetery in Bethel. The Rev. Kenneth Rodgers will officiate.
Arrangements were made by the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville.

Asa C. Blaine
Ret. Truck Driver, 61

Asa Clinton Blaine of Damascus, Pa., a retired truck driver in the construction industry and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, September 11, 2000, at the Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, Pa., following a brief illness. He was 61 years of age.
The son of Florence Drake Blaine Haggerty and the late Asa Clinton Blaine Sr., he was born July 13, 1939, in Callicoon.
Mr. Blaine was a member of the Hankins Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his mother of Honesdale, Pa.; a friend, Betty Blaine of Honesdale, Pa.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Clinton and Lisa Blaine of Damascus, Pa., Charles and June Blaine of Hancock and David and Erica Blaine of Monticello; three daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Steve Swendsen of Narrowsburg and Vera and Rich Schofield and Angela and Mike Pfeil, all of Damascus, Pa; a sister, Frances DeGroat of Hawley, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; a niece and a nephew. He was predeceased by a daughter, Laura Blaine, and a brother, Joseph Blaine.
Services were held Thursday at the Hessling Funeral Home in Honesdale with Rev. Robert Paquet, pastor of the Hankins Assembly of God Church, officiating.
Burial was made in the Laurel Cemetery in Cochecton Center.

Vincent H. Dory
Ret. Truck Driver, 76

Vincent H. Dory of Damascus, Pa., a retired 30-year truck driver for Local #816 Teamsters Union, and nine-year security guard in Westchester County, died Wednesday, September 13, 2000, at his home following an illness. He was 76 years of age.
The son of the late Henry and Emma Knorr Dory, he was born January 7, 1924, in New York City.
A former summer resident of Equinunk, Pa., he moved permanently to Damascus ten years ago.
Mr. Dory was a life member and past president of the Putnam County Fish and Game Association. He was a 30-year member of the Boy Scout Council of Greater New York and a member of St. Joseph's Church in Rileyville. He and his wife were members of St. Mary Magdalen's Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Irene Deubel Dory, at home; a daughter, JeanMarie Farano of Missouri; two sons and daughters-in-law, William Vincent and Kathy Dory of New Mexico and Richard James and Jody Dory of Yonkers; two grandchildren, Matthew Farano and Jessica Dory; a sister, Ethel Baltas of Tennessee; and a brother, Joseph Dory of Cooperstown. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward Dory, and a sister, Catherine Hartz.
Friends may call at the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St., Honesdale, Pa., on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Rileyville.
Interment will be made in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Rileyville.

Florence Hutton
Homemaker, 84

Florence Hutton of Livingston Manor, a homemaker, died Monday, September 11, 2000, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. She was 84 years of age.
The daughter of the late George and Esther Hutton, she was born December 9, 1915, in Speonk.
She is survived by her devoted caregiver, Linda Guinan of Livingston Manor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday at the Gate of Heaven Church in Roscoe with Father Alfred Croke officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Livingston Manor.
Arrangements were made by the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Liberty.

Joseph W. Ball
Retired PI, 70

Joseph W. Ball of Monticello, a retired private investigator and an eight-year area resident, died Monday, September 11, 2000, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown. He was 70 years of age.
The son of the late Joseph C. and Ruth "Rose" McNamara Ball, he was born December 23, 1929, in Yonkers.
Mr. Ball was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was the owner of the Sophisticated Investigators in Spring Valley and formerly lived in Yonkers.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Wright Ball, at home; six children; a sister, Rose Mary Reichenbach of Coxsackie; a brother, Donald Ball of Arizona; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ellenville Assembly of God Church, 67 Canal St., Ellenville.
Cremation was private.

Russell C. Kelly, 82
Ret. Insurance Clerk

Russell C. Kelly of Livingston Manor, a seven-year area resident and a retired clerk for N.Y. Life Insurance Company in New York City, died Tuesday, September 12, 2000, at his home. He was 82 years of age.
The son of the late Vivan W. and Gladys Wheeler Kelly, he was born March 16, 1918, in Kearny, N.J.
Mr. Kelly was also a short order cook at Kelly's Diner, an accountant at L.A.S. Print Shop and a retired 20 year postal clerk, all in Kearny, N.J. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Pine Ridge Patrol and the Old Guard, both in Whiting, N.J.
In a family statement, it was said, "R.C. loved his 'Little House' in Turnwood where he would take his family on weekends. There were so many great times that were given to his family by this generous man. He will sorely be missed as he was a great husband, father and grandfather."
He is survived by his wife, Doris Moore Kelly, at home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Joan (Hyland) and John Smack of Green Brook, N.J., and Marilyn L. and Mac Lamoreau of Livingston Manor; a brother, Nelson Kelly of Whiting, N.J.; a sister, Joyce Stanford of Fort Myers, Fla.; six grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Kelly, and a sister, Edith Blisard.
Friends may call on Friday at the Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl St., Livingston Manor, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at noon on Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Hoag officiating.
Burial will be made in the Lew Beach Cemetery in Lew Beach.
