Tri-Valley Goes to Orlando

ORLANDO, FL — October 13, 2000 – The Tri-Valley boys’ cross country team and Heather Iatauro placed first in their division at the Disney Cross Country Classic, held last Friday in Orlando.
Iatauro won the Division I-A race with a time of 18:03.9. The Lady Bears had three other runners in the race, not enough to qualify for a team score.
They were 9. Jen Sorrentino 21:55; 15. Traci Taylor 22:38; 42. Vanessa Houghtaling, 25:32.
For the boys, Steve Creek won the I-A race with a time of 16:11.2, beating out teammate and runner-up Zane Illing by 15 seconds.
Also placing were 4. Adrien Hobbs 17:01; 6. Brent Smith, 17:27; 7. Travis Wolfe, 17:34; 9. Todd Goldstein, 17:44; 37. Adam Wilson, 25:32.
The course was 3.0 miles.

Bulldogs Cop Invite

SIDNEY — October 13, 2000 – The Sullivan West boys’ cross country team won the William Davidson (formerly Sidney) Invitational in Sidney last Saturday.
The Bulldog harriers beat out runner-up Oneonta 50-66.
Ian Parnett’s third-place finished paced SW. Parnett covered the 2.8-mile course in 16:36.10, behind winner Ross Humkovic of Maine-Endwell (16:01.65).
The other SW runners: 10. Adam Bassney, 17:04.47; 11. Kevin McCarthy, 17:13.80; 12. Matthew Parks, 17:16.60; 17. Brent Rose, 17:22.66; 19. Steve Mulvihill, 17:43.71; 21. Neal Snedeker, 21:37.07.
Jamie Clifford placed first in the girls’ race with a time of 19:18.18. Also competing for the Lady Bulldogs were Danielle Hendrickson (21:25.60/16th) and Kristen Clifford (21:29.03/17th).
Mark Nicoletti won a medal in the jayvee race, clocking 20:46.55, while Amanda Ward placed 12th in the modified division with a time of 12:00.73.
