SULLIVAN COUNTY May 11, 2001 In recent weeks, several cellular communications tower construction companies and/or individuals have filed applications with local municipalities to build cell towers. Since December 13, the Sullivan County Division of Planning & Community Development has received data related to ten proposed new towers (eight companies/individuals have filed official applications).
The map and related data were prepared/compiled by two staff members of the division of planning and community development: Sonja Teichmann-Ben Adi (planner) and Dongming Tang (GIS planner).
1. Rock Hill Cell Tower (Town of Thompson) located at Katrina Falls Road. Height of tower: 180 feet; application received by county planning division Dec. 13, 2000; referral #TH00-21.
2. Guaranty Towers LLC (Town of Thompson) located in Harris. Height of tower unspecified; application not yet received by county; referral # not yet assigned.
3. Landers Special Permit/Tower (Town of Tusten) located at Laurel Lane. Height of existing tower to be increased from 50 feet to 200 feet; application received by county planning division on Jan. 18; referral #TUS01-01.
4. SBA Cell Tower/Daley (Town of Tusten) located at 7907 Rt. 52. Height of tower: 195 feet; application received by county planning division on March 6; referral #TUS01-03.
5. Roscoe Communications Tower (Town of Rockland) located at Gulf Rd. Height of tower: 180 feet; application received by county on Jan. 24; referral #ROC01-01.
6. Livingston Manor Cell Tower (Town of Rockland) located at Hazel Road. Height of tower: 100 feet; application received by county planning division on Jan. 24.
7. Rock Hill Cell Tower (Town of Rockland) located on Old Rt. 17. Height of tower unspecified; application not yet received by county; referral # not yet assigned.
8. SBA Highland Cell Tower (Town of Highland) located on Mud Pond Road. Height of tower: 245 feet; application received by county planning division on Feb. 15; referral #HIG01-01.
9. Crown Atlantic Company/Cell Tower (Town of Highland) located on Clark Road. Height of tower: 180-plus feet; application received by county planning division on March 23; referral #HIG01-02.
10. SBA Delaware Wireless Communications (Town of Delaware) located on Froelich Road. Height of tower: amended to 170 feet; application received by county planning division on April 5; referral #DEL01-01.
