Memorial Service for
Marshall Miller Jr.

There will be a Memorial Service for Marshall Miller Jr. of Long Eddy, who died Thursday, January 4, in Cave Junction, Oreg., on FridayJanuary 26, at 11 a.m., at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel in Hancock.
Interment will made in the Rock Valley Cemetery.

Anna D. Brown
Ret. Falls Poultry, 82

Anna D. Brown of Liberty, a retired employee of Falls Poultry in Livingston Manor and a 20-year area resident, died Tuesday, January 16, 2001, at the Walnut Mountain Care Center in Liberty. She was 82 years of age.
The daughter of the late Peter and Louise Robinson Brown, she was born May 12, 1918, in Meridian, Miss.
Ms. Brown was a member of the Church of God and Christ in Liberty.
She is survived by a sister, Mattie Crawford of Liberty; and several cousins.
Friends may call at the Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St., Liberty, on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ruth Sellers officiating.
Burial will be made in the Liberty Cemetery.

Ronnie J. Matan, 50

Ronnie J. Matan of Monticello, a longtime area resident, died Monday, January 15, 2001, at his home. He was 50 years of age.
The son of the late Ralph and Zelda Matan, he was born January 31, 1950, in Newport News, Va.
He is survived by three daughters, Kyra Matan and Jessica Matan, both of Monticello, and Christina Matan of Newport News, Va.; and a grandson, David Kimble Jr.
Cremation was made at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
Funeral arrangements were made by the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home in Monticello.

Helen Formwald
Ret. Postmaster, 88

Helen M. Formwald of Wurtsboro, a retired postmaster at the Wurtsboro Post Office and a longtime area resident, died Tuesday, January 16, 2001, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown. She was 88 years of age.
The daughter of the late Thomas and Emma Bales Lucas, she was born May 5, 1912, in Long Island City. She was the widow of Alfred Formwald.
Mrs. Formwald was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Bloomingburg, the American Legion Post #1266 Auxiliary in Mamakating, the Mamakating Senior Citizens and the Westbrookville Senior Citizens.
In a family statement, it was said, "Helen was a loving, caring and devoted mother and grandmother."
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Lutsky of Marlboro and Jacqueline King and her husband, Kirk, of LaPalma, Calif.; a sister, Rita Lewis of Middletown; three grandchildren, Karen Lutsky, Joseph Lutsky and Kelli King; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Thomas, Francis and Joseph Lucas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Bloomingburg with Father James Sidoti, O. Carm., officiating.
Burial will be made in Sylvan Cemetery in Wurtsboro.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, P.O. Box 216, Bloomingburg, N.Y. 12721.

Alba M. Raigosa
Homemaker, 73

Alba Maria Raigosa of Monticello, a homemaker and longtime area resident, died Sunday, January 14, 2001, at the Albany Medical Center in Albany. She was 73 years of age.
Born January 27, 1927, in Columbia, she was a member of St. Peter's Church in Monticello.
She is survived by two daughters, Mariela Angel and her husband, Guillermo, of Monticello, and Claudia Maria Raigosa of Columbia; and four grandchildren, Paula Angel, Alexandra Angel, Edwin Angel and Juan Sebastian Londono.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Peter's Church in Monticello on Thursday.
Burial was made in St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello.
Funeral arrangements were made by the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home in Monticello.

Gertrude M. Daniels
Ret. Dispatcher, 87

Gertrude M. Daniels of Woodbourne, a retired dispatcher, died Wednesday, January 17, 2001, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. She was 87 years of age.
The daughter of the late Charles L. and Gertrude A. Dalton Bush, she was born March 26, 1913, in Brooklyn. She was the widow of Valintia Daniels.
She is survived by four children, Jane Horos and her husband, George, of Woodbourne, Patricia Streimer and her husband, Martin, of Liberty, Barbara Huffman of Neversink and Michael Daniels of Florida; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, John Bush, and a sister, Ethel Mohan.
Friends may call at the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, Main St., Woodbourne, on Friday at 6 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bart J. Krieger, 46
Sr. Corrections Counselor

Bart J. Krieger of Woodridge, a senior corrections counselor, died Wednesday, January 17, 2001, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. He was 46 years of age.
The son of Natt Harvey and Eileen Joy Burns Krieger, he was born November 7, 1954, in Monticello.
A member of Mid-Hudson Christian Church and SX 11 Motorcycle Club, he was a graduate of Texas A & M University.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Anne Krieger and a daughter, Jessica, both at home; his parents of Woodridge; his maternal grandmother, Minnie Burns of North Miami, Fla.; a brother, Bill Krieger of Hollywood, Fla.; two sisters, Lynn DeGraw of South Fallsburg and Marci Kling of Framingham, Mass.; two nieces, Neeka Jaccarino and Adina Kling; and a nephew, Benjamin Kling.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, Main St., Woodbourne, with Pastor Pat Burden and Rabbi Michael Zeitler officiating.
Interment will be made in Workman's Circle Cemetery in Glen Wild.
Shiva will be observed at the home of Harvey and Eileen Krieger, 23 Cantor Ave., Woodridge.

Muriel Fotino
Homemaker, 74

Muriel Fotino of Suffern, formerly of Pearl River, died Tuesday, January 16, 2001, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. She was 74 years of age.
The daughter of the late Charles and Abby Jane Laune Goelz, she was born June 13, 1926, in Narrowsburg. She was the widow of William S. Fotino who died in 1994.
Mrs. Fotino was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Pearl River Post No. 7370, VFW.
She is survived by a son, William A. Fotino of Saddle River, N.J.; a daughter, Anne Fotino-Cavallo of Mahwah, N.J.; four grandchildren, Dante, Alicia, Erika and Kristen; and two sisters, Doris Smith and Bertha Shutz of Middletown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Church in Nanuet.
Burial will be made in St. Anthony's Cemetery.

Felix S. Sczyrek
Handyman, 83

Felix S. Sczyrek of Monticello, a longtime area resident and a handyman at Ideal Bungalows in Monticello, died Saturday, January 13, 2001, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. He was 83 years of age.
A World War II Army veteran, serving from 1939 to 1943, he was born October 10, 1918, in Nanticoke, Pa., the son of the late John and Eva Wieczorek Sczyrek.
There are no known survivors.
Graveside services were held Thursday at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Monticello.

Walter P. Beisel Sr.
Carpenter, 50

Walter P. Beisel Sr. of Lackawaxen, Pa., a carpenter to J.P.O. Construction in Blooming Grove, Pa., and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, January 15, 2001, at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. He was 50 years of age.
The son of the late Walter C. and Frances A. Hoeper Beisel, he was born May 30, 1950, in Lackawaxen, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Rosset Beisel of Greeley, Pa.; three sons, Michael P. Beisel, Walter P. Beisel Jr. and Shawn A. Beisel, all of Lackawaxen, Pa.; a daughter, Tara L. Beisel of Greeley, Pa.; two sisters, Feliece Kane of New Jersey and Margaret Crow of Kendall, Wisc.; two brothers, John Beisel and Albert G. Beisel, both of Lackawaxen, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Thursday at the Gray-Rasmussen Funeral Home in Barryville with the Rev. David Cramer officiating.
Burial was made in the Lackawaxen Cemetery in Lackawaxen, Pa.

John Iadovito, 94
Ret. Cement Mason

John Iadovito of Roscoe, a retired cement mason and a 60-year area resident, died Thursday, January 18, 2001, at the Countryside Care Center in Delhi. He was 94 years of age.
The son of the late Carmine and Rose Iatauro Iadovito, he was born February 9, 1906, in Vinchiaturo, Italy. He was the widower of Cecilia Iadovito who died November 20, 1997.
Mr. Iadovito was a communicant of Gate of Heaven Church in Roscoe and a member of the Roscoe-Rockland Senior Citizens.
He is survived by a daughter, Rose McCarthy and her husband, Richard, of Staten Island; a son, Carmine Iadovito and his wife, Carolyn, of Gainesville, Fla.; a grandson, John, and his wife, Catherine; a granddaughter, Cecilia Dopp and her husband, Douglas; two great-grandsons, Andrew Jason Dopp and Samuel David Dopp.
Friends may call at the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Alfred Croke officiating.
Burial will be made in the Riverview Cemetery in Roscoe.

Kenneth Welton, 80
Ret. Warehouseman

Kenneth Welton of Youngsville, a retired warehouseman at Yaun Company in Liberty and a lifelong area resident, died Thursday, January 18, 2001, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. He was 80 years of age.
The son of the late Edward and Alice Hunt Welton, he was born September 8, 1920, in Liberty.
Mr. Welton was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Schueler Welton, at home; four sons, Alan Welton of North Branch, William Welton of Boynton Beach, Fla., Daniel Welton of Jeffersonville and Timothy Welton of Caney, Kans.; two daughters, Debra LaBagh of White Sulphur Springs and Nancy Welton of Coffeyville, Kans.; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles P. Welton of Cape Vincent, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Howard Welton.
Friends may call at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at noon on Friday at the funeral home with the Deacon John Riley officiating.
Burial will be made in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs.

Charles J. Burns
Ret. Executive, 86

Charles J. Burns of Edison, N.J., a retired executive for Denman & Davis Steel Company in Clifton, N.J., and a former Wurtsboro resident, died Wednesday, January 17, 2001, at JFK Hospital in Edison. He was 86 years of age.
The son of the late Charles and Emma Heinkel Burns, he was born July 4, 1914, in West New York, N.J.
An Army veteran of World War II, he served as a lieutenant and was a member of the 12th Armored Division Association and part of the 495th Armored Field Artillery.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kathryn Jahrling Burns, at home; a son, Charles J. Burns of Florida, N.Y.; two daughters, Kathleen Chesnok of Edison, N.J., and Geraldine Zimmerman of Moline, Ill.; a sister, Catherine Condon of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; five grandchildren, Geralynne, Sean, Charles, Heather and Sheila; three great-grandchildren, Nikolaos, Melanie and Jamieson; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Burns.
Friends may call at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan St., Wurtsboro, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Church in Wurtsboro with Rev. Peter Madori officiating.
