Lillian DeSanno
Homemaker, 68

Lillian DeSanno of Woodridge, a homemaker and a 30-year area resident, died at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla on Friday, March 2, 2001. She was 68 years of age.
The daughter of the late Sylva Erickson, she was born April 18, 1932, in Brooklyn. She was the widow of Angelo DeSanno who died June 30, 1999.
Mrs. DeSanno is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dino and Debbie DeSanno of the state of Florida, and Michael and Dorothy DeSanno of the state of Delaware and New York; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and Bobby Matarazzo and Louise and Bill Elliott, all of Woodridge, and Toni and Stanley Blaskey of Seldon; and nine grandchildren, Anthony, Amanda, Stephanie, Samantha, Nickie, Casey, Michael , Richard and Courtney.
Friends may call at the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 Main Street, Woodbourne, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be made in the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty.

Vincent A. Pizzi
Ret. Computer Tech., 70

Vincent A. Pizzi of Swan Lake, a retired computer technician for Celebrity Industry of the Bronx and a longtime area resident, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at the Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla. He was 70 years of age.
The son of the late Giovanni and Carmela Annunziata Pizzi, he was born March 6, 1930, in the Bronx.
Mr. Pizzi was a Korean War veteran, serving with the U.S. Army. He was a communicant of St. Peter's Church in Liberty.
He is survived by three brothers, Stanley Pizzi, William A. Pizzi and Guido Pizzi, all of Swan Lake; a sister, Paula Turchiano of Long Island; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Church, 263 N. Main St., Liberty, with Monsignor Edward Straub officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Peter's Cemetery in Liberty.

Mary Hartmayer
Homemaker, 87

Mary Hartmayer of Callicoon Center, a homemaker and a 23-year area resident, died Thursday, March 1, 2001, at the Roscoe Community Nursing Home in Roscoe. She was 87 years of age.
The widow of the late Edward Hartmayer, she was born March 14, 1913, in the Bronx.
Mrs. Hartmayer was a member of St. George's Church in Jeffersonville and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Callicoon Center Fire Department.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Stella Hartmayer of St. Augustine, Fla.; three nieces, Margaret Holden, Mary Ann Kiech and Clara Oehler; and two nephews, Robert and Raymond Hartmayer.
Friends may call at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. George's Church in Jeffersonville with Father Robert Nee O.F.M., officiating.
Burial will be made in the Callicoon Center Cemetery in Callicoon Center.

Steven M. Hill
Real Estate Bkr., 48

Steven Michael Hill of Glen Spey, an associate real estate broker for ERA Meloi Realty Co. in Port Jervis and a lifelong area resident, died Thursday, March 1, 2001, at his home. He was 48 years of age.
The son of Eleanor Getz Hill and the late Thomas F. Hill, he was born January 21, 1953, in Port Jervis.
Mr. Hill was a member of the Pond Eddy United Methodist Church in Pond Eddy and the Lumberland Fire Department, a former councilman for the town of Lumberland, and a former member of the Planning Board.
He is survived by his wife, Lannette Hocker Hill, and a daughter, Maggie Hill, both at home; his mother of Glen Spey; a sister, Cheryl Calabria and her husband, Nicholas, of Glen Spey; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas F. Hill who died August 25, 1997.
Services were held Saturday at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home in Port Jervis with the Rev. Walter Schwarz officiating.
Burial was made in the Glen Spey Cemetery in Glen Spey.

Samuel Jarcho, 90

Samuel Jarcho of Monticello and Plantation, Fla., a former real estate broker and longtime Monticello resident, died Thursday, March 2, 2001, at his home in Florida. He was 90 years of age.
The son of the late Jack Jacko and Ida Panzer, he was born July 4, 1910, in New York City.
Mr. Jarcho was a member of the Landfield Avenue Synagogue in Monticello and the Fallsburg Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, in Fallsburg.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Jaffe Jarcho, at home; a daughter and son-in-law, Harriet and Burt Ledina of Monticello; a daughter-in-law, Harriet Becker of Dallas, Tex.; six grandchildren, Gayle Rose, Shelley Fox, Lynn Jarcho, Michelle Kelson, David "DJ" Ledina and Andrea DeLange; six great-grandchildren, Bethany and Michael Rose, Danielle and Samantha Fox, Julie DeLange and Ethan Ledina. He was predeceased by a son, David Jarcho.
Services were held Sunday at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home with Rabbi Ben Zion Chanowitz officiating.

Robert J. Rush
Ret. Dairy Farmer, 72

Robert J. Rush of Montgomery, a retired dairy farmer and school bus driver and a more than 50-year area resident, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown. He was 72 years of age.
The son of the late Seymour and Edna Green Rush, he was born December 30, 1928, in Hamburg, N.J.
Mr. Rush was a member of the Middletown Seventh Day Adventist Church for more than 50 years and was a longtime head elder of the church.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linnie Welch Rush of Montgomery; three sons, Robert and Richard Rush of Chester and Jonathan Rush and his wife, Rebecca, of Swan Lake; a daughter and son-in-law, Linnie and Glenn LeBrun of Lebanon, N.H.; a sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Alfred Roberts of South Lancaster, Mass.; six grandchildren, Linnie and Katrina LeBrun, Dorothy Jayme, Jonathan and Rebekah Rush; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother and business partner, S. John Rush.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Middletown.
Burial will be made in North Hardyston Cemetery in Franklin, N.J.

Mildred Goldsmith
Ret. Bookkeeper, 92

Mildred Goldsmith of Willowemoc, Livingston Manor, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at the Schervier Pavilion Nursing Home. She was 92 years of age.
The daughter of the late Mortimer E. and Grace Montross, she was born October 4, 1908, in Florida, N.Y.
Mrs. Goldsmith was a graduate of Ramsdell Business School in Middletown and was a retired bookkeeper of the Green's Department Store in Middletown. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Goshen and served as president of its Women's Association.
In later years, Mrs. Goldsmith was a member of Webb Horton Memorial Presbyterian Church in Middletown. She had been a concert pianist with the Newburgh Philharmonic and Middletown Symphony Orchestras and was a teacher of classical piano.
She is survived by her husband, James C. Goldsmith, at home; two daughters, Cynthia G. Conklin of Flat Rock, N.C., and Beryl G. Youngman and her husband, Robert D., of Warwick; a granddaughter, Bry L. Stewart of Denver, Colo.; a brother, Alfred Pierce of Central Valley; and a nephew and nieces.
Friends may call at the Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, on Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be made in the Warwick Cemetery.
