Jeffrey T. Brown, 35
Myrtha G. Brown, 64, and her son, Jeffrey T. Brown, 35, both of Livingston Manor, died April 18, 2001, as the result of injuries sustained in a vehicular accident in the Town of Fallsburg.
Funeral arrangements by the Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl St., Livingston Manor, are incomplete at press time.
Donna F. Frank
Homemaker, 62
Donna Fargo Frank of Syracuse, a homemaker, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001. She was 62 years of age.
The daughter of Rev. H. Markham and Dorothy Fargo, she was born November 14, 1938, in Pennsylvania. She was the widow of Charles Frank.
She was a 1957 graduate of Liberty High School and Practical Bible Training School in Johnson City in 1960.
Mrs. Frank is survived by three daughters, Tina Frank, Debora Frank and Carla Frank, and three grandchildren, all of Syracuse; her parents of Livingston Manor; a sister, Sheila Schleiermacher of Livingston Manor; and several aunts, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant son, David Frank.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday at the Giminski-Wysocki Funeral Home in Syracuse.
Burial will be made in the Oakwood Cemetery in Syracuse.

Katherine Burkard
Ret. Hairdresser, 82
Katherine "Kay" Burkard of Evansville, Ind., a retired hairdresser and creative writer who had formerly managed a Hallmark store in San Francisco, Calif., died Monday, April 16, 2001, in Deaconess Hospital. She was 82 years of age.
The widow of Charles Burkard, she was a member of St. Peter's UCC and was president of the Women's Golf Association of Little River, Calif.
She is survived by a sister, Rosetta Dill of Lafayette; five brothers, Vincent Mancusi of Springfield, Va., Robert H. Sherwood of Liberty, Harold Sherwood of Lakeland, Daniel Sherwood of Fayetville, Ga., and Fred Sherwood of Unadilla; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday at the Browning Funeral Home in Evansville, Ind.
Burial was made in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Richard D. Jones

Richard D. Jones of Monticello, a retired construction worker, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. He was 53 years of age.
The son of Edwin R. Jones and the late Ruth Holmes Jones, he was born August 1, 1947, in Woodhaven.
A Vietnam War veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he was a member of the Disabled War Veterans.
He is survived by his father of Texas; a daughter, Valerie A. Jones of Baldwin; a brother, Lawrence Jones of Texas; and his ex-wife, Paula Jones of Floral Park.
Services were held Wednesday at the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home in Woodbourne.
Cremation was made at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
Milton Lefner
Ret. Mach. Spec., 92
Milton Lefner of Bloomingburg, a retired machine specialist with the federal government and a longtime area resident, died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown. He was 92 years of age.
The son of the late Joseph and Anna Luks Lefner, he was born August 1, 1908, in New York City.
He is survived by several cousins.
Friends may call at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, 72 West Main St., Middletown, on Friday from 9 to 11 a.m.
Graveside services and burial will be held Friday at St. Michael's Cemetery in Astoria.
Charles W. Specht, 86
Ret. Radio/TV Repairman
Charles W. Specht of Roscoe, a retired radio and television repairman and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at his home. He was 86 years of age.
The son of the late William and Elizabeth Biffar Specht, he was born April 18, 1914, in Acidalia.
Mr. Specht had been a motion picture projectionist and later an employee of the Vincent Haynes Jewelry Store in Roscoe as a repairman. He was a World War II veteran and a 57-year charter member, the post adjutant and former quartermaster of the Harold Wood Post #5911, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Roscoe. He was also a charter member of the Roscoe-Rockland Volunteer Ambulance Corps and was a member of AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Ivah Price Specht, at home; a sister, Clara S. Lindsay of Roscoe; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home in Roscoe with the Rev. Jacob Wielhouwer officiating.
Burial will be made later in the Riverview Cemetery in Roscoe.

Irene M. Shimer
Ret. Operator, 71
Irene Marie Shimer of Port Jervis, a retired switchboard operator for the former Mercy Community Hospital in Port Jervis and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. She was 71 years of age.
The daughter of the late Archibald and Marie Kenefick Winning, she was born June 21, 1929, in the Bronx. She was the widow of Joseph W. Shimer.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Heussy of Port Jervis; two sons, James Shimer of Huguenot and John Shimer and his wife, Kathy, of Glen Spey; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services were followed by burial in the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Port Jervis.

Homemaker, 59
Florence Rose VanDunk of Otisville, a homemaker and a lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown. She was 59 years of age.
The daughter of Rose Mapes DeGroat and the late George DeGroat, she was born June 11, 1941, in Chester. She was the widow of Rudolph James VanDunk Sr.
She is survived by her mother of Cuddebackville; a son, Rudolph James VanDunk Jr. of Otisville; three daughters, Patricia Hall of Queens, Trudy Russell of Roscoe and Rebecca VanDunk of Otisville; two brothers; five sisters; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Christine Epps.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Donovan Funeral Home in Goshen with the Rev. David Kingsley officiating.
Burial will be made in the Hillside Cemetery in Middletown.
Mary V. Bornstein, 99
Ret. Owner Grandview Inn
Mary V. Bornstein, a 13-year resident of Vero Beach, Fla., and the retired owner of the Grandview Inn boarding house in Yulan, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at her home, following an extended illness. She was 99 years of age.
She was born January 6, 1902, in Poland.
Mrs. Bornstein was a Gold Star Mother and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, a member of the Yulan Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a benefactor of St. Anthony's Church in Yulan.
She is survived by three sons, Joe Oset of Niagara Falls, Stanley Oset of Jacksonville, Fla., and Chester Oset of Yulan; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Anthony's Church in Yulan with the Rev. Evan Greco officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Eldred.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eldred American Legion Post, P.O. Box 63, Eldred, N.Y. 12732.

Marion Elkins, 61
Marion Elkins of Middletown died Monday, April 16, 2001, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown. She was 61 years of age.
The daughter of the late Max and Leah Breslo Elkins, she was born October 25, 1939, in Michigan.
She is survived by many friends at the Rehab Program and the Middletown Park Manor Community.
Friends may call at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave., Middletown from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Father Emmet Murphy officiating.
Private burial will be made in the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery in Bloomingburg.
