Heather Dollard
Student, 13

Heather Dollard of Rock Hill died Saturday, August 4, 2001, at her home. She was 13 years of age.
The daughter of John and Mary Dollard, she was born August 7, 1987, in Harris.
She is survived by her parents, a sister, Mary Kay Dollard, and two brothers, John E. and Ed Dollard, all at home; her maternal grandfather, Dick Smith of Bethel; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Funeral Mass was offered Tuesday at St. Peter's R.C. Church, Broadway, Monticello, with Monsignor Edward Straub officiating.
Cremation will be private.

Ellen W. Tessmer
Homemaker, 75

Ellen W. Tessmer of Yulan, a longtime area resident and a homemaker, died Sunday, August 5, 2001, at the Madison Center in Matawan, N.J. She was 75 years of age.
The daughter of the late Charles and Mary Courtney Walters, she was born December 20, 1925, in Queens. She was the widow of Rudolph H. Tessmer who died March 16, 2000.
Mrs. Tessmer was a member of the Eldred United Methodist Church, the Highland Senior Citizens, the Lumberland Senior Citizens and AARP.
She is survived by two daughters, Suellen Lass of Matawan, N.J., and Irene Andujar of Keansburg, N.J.; two sons, Charles Tessmer of Brewster and R.J. Tessmer of Westland, Mich.; and nine grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday at the Gray-Rasmussen Funeral Home in Barryville with Pastor Linda Bohs officiating.
Burial was made in Montoza Cemetery in Barryville.

Mabel H. DeWitt
Homemaker, 81

Mabel H. Parks DeWitt, a ten-year resident of the North Greenbush area, a revered grandmother, homemaker and former resident of White Sulphur Springs, died Tuesday, August 7, 2001, at Rosewood Gardens in East Greenbush, after a long illness. She was 81 years of age.
The daughter of the late George and Zelma Mills Parks, she was born in White Sulphur Springs. She was the widow of Arthur B. DeWitt.
Mrs. DeWitt was a member of the White Sulphur Springs Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, the Cooperative Extension, the Nightlighters Home Extension Group and the Senior Citizens of White Sulphur Springs.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, George Arthur and Sue DeWitt of White Sulphur Springs; a daughter, Betty E. Coleman of Wynantskill; five grandchildren, Tedi Dawn Coleman and her husband, Jim Foley, of Albany, Kacey Beth Hennings and her husband, Michael of Plymouth, Mass., Trishia Kinney and her husband, Jesse, of Hurleyville, Shandi Raina Coleman of Nantucket and Matthew DeWitt of White Sulphur Springs; and three great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Devin and Jessica Kinney, Shea Coleman Foley and Mitchell Hennings. She was predeceased by three brothers.
There will be no calling hours.

Sandra L. Hinckley
Ret. Secretary, 67

Sandra L. Hinckley of Middletown, a retired secretary for CTI Abstract Company in Goshen and a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, August 7, 2001, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown. She was 67 years of age.
The daughter of the late Henry and Hermine Glattes, she was born March 28, 1934. She was the widow of Albert R. Hinckley.
Mrs. Hinckley was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Middletown, a past Grand Worthy Advisor of State of New York for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls; the Altar Guild for St. John's Lutheran Church and a member of the Lutheran Church Women's Association, all in Middletown.
She is survived by her companion, Richard Willing of Middletown; a daughter, Katherine B. Bradford of Woodridge; three grandchildren, Lisa, Joseph and Brittany; a sister-in-law, Leona Murray and her husband, Charles of Circleville; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Hinckley and his wife, Jean, of Delaware.
Services were held Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Middletown with the Rev. Peter Rustico officiating.
Burial was made in the Circleville Cemetery in Circleville.

Irma E. Swartwout
Ret. Bookkeeper, 89

Irma E. Swartwout of Cooks Falls, a lifelong area resident and a retired bookkeeper, died Tuesday, August 7, 2001, She was 89 years of age.
The daughter of the late William A. and Grace Mullen Heaney, she was born July 28, 1912, in Cooks Falls. She was the widow of John Swartwout.
Mrs. Swartwout worked as a bookkeeper for many local businesses including The Treyz Store in Cooks Falls, Wilcox Trucking in Roscoe and Grossman Tire in Liberty. She and her late husband owned a farm in Cooks Falls and in 1966 founded the Butternut Grove Campsite in Cooks Falls.
She was a member of the Roscoe NY O&W Railway Association in Roscoe and was an avid dancer.
Mrs. Swartwout is survived by three nieces, Patricia Nead of Roscoe, Gail Palm of Cooks Falls and Phyllis Lewis of Cicero; and a nephew, Robert Swartwout of New Mexico.
Friends may call at the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Cicio officiating.
Burial will be made in the Cooks Falls Cemetery in Cooks Falls.

Mildred B. Soule
Ret. Teacher, 94

Mildred B. Soule of Swan Lake, a retired teacher for the Monticello Central Schools, died Wednesday, August 8, 2001, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris, after a brief illness. She was 94 years of age.
The daughter of the late Vincent and Adelaide Ule Bollin, she was born August 4, 1907, in Liberty. She was the widow of William M. Soule.
Mrs. Soule was a member of the Kauneonga Lake Community United Methodist Church, the New York State Retired Teachers' Association, the Bethelites Home Extension Unit and was active in various other community and civic affairs for her entire life.
She is survived by two daughters, Anna Marie Deppa and Joan Yeomans, both of Swan Lake; a sister, Edith Marshall of Union, N.J.; a sister-in-law, Margaret Schillinger of White Sulphur Springs; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, William Soule Jr. and two sisters, Gertrude McAuliffe and Ruby Pinkerous.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Kauneonga Lake Community United Methodist Church, Horseshoe Lake Rd., Kauneonga Lake with the Rev. Kenneth Rodgers officiating.
Private cremation will be made at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
