Francis "Dutch" O'Neill of Hobe Sound, Fla., a native of Pond Eddy and the retired owner of a painting and paperhanging business, died Wednesday, August 29, 2001, at the Martin Memorial Hospital in South Stuart, Fla. He was 85 years of age.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. O'Neill was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Hobe Sound, Fla. He was a former Elk of the Year of Port Jervis Lodge #465 and upon his retirement transferred his membership to the Stuart Jensen Beach Lodge #1870 in Stuart, Fla.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lillian O'Neill of Hobe Sound, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Bessie Jane O'Neill of Layton, N.J.; a grandson, Richard O'Neill Jr. of Montague, N.J.; a sister, Anna Brennan of Pond Eddy; a brother Charles O'Neill and his wife, Marge, of Hudson, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Elsie Bisland of Bradenton, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
