Do Well, Too

By Rob Potter
March 23, 2001:

19-3 overall, 10-2 OCIAA Division IV, division co-champs
Starting Lineup:
Guard – Christina Winski
Guard – Shelisa Duquette
Guard – Aileen Semenetz
Guard – Kristin Erlwein
Center – Tiffany Hauser
Top Scorers:
Tiffany Hauser led the team with 13.3 points per game. Christina Winski averaged a second-best eight points per contest. Semenetz and Duquette each netted seven points a game and Erlwein averaged six per game.
Top Rebounder:
Hauser led the team, grabbing nine rebounds per game.
Season Highlights:
Coach Ron Bernhardt noted that the Lady Trojans had quite a few highlights this past season.
“We had a couple of nine game winning streaks and we played consistently well in January and February,” Bernhardt said. “We were ranked in the state and held that ranking throughout the year. I really enjoyed coaching these girls. I’m really proud of the girls and this season was as good a sporting experience as any I’ve had.”
Biggest Disappointment:
“The [lowest point] was losing to Tuxedo in the final regular season game,” Bernhardt said. “We had a six point lead with a minute left and a two point lead with eight seconds left and lost it. And in the sectional game with Eldred (a 34-33 loss in the semi), we shot the ball poorly. We were 11-for-54 on field goal attempts and five-for-26 in the paint.”
