NARROWSBURG —April 10, 2001 - Liberty picked up its first win of the young softball season Thursday afternoon at Narrowsburg.
Liberty (1–0) pounded Narrowsburg (1–2), 22-3, in non-league game. The contest was halted after five innings due to the 15-run rule.
Jennifer Pellman led the Liberty offense, going 3-for-3 and scoring three runs. Chelsea LaGattuta added a triple for the Lady Indians.
Liberty’s offense also benefited from getting numerous free passes to first base.
“We gave up 18 walks today,” Narrowsburg coach Lionel Billard said. “You can’t win a game when you have that many.”
Liberty pitcher Michelle Olson had a strong outing, allowing only four hits while striking out three batters.
Narrowsburg’s Stacy Hert and Beth Meyer each had two hits. Hert also had an RBI.
