SCRANTON, PA — April 17, 2001 – Cochecton’s Harold Shaw, of Marywood University, finished the 2000-01 season ranked in the top 10 in both scoring and rebounding in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC).
The 6-foot-3 forward finished seventh in scoring (16.1 ppg) and tied for fourth in rebounding (7.9 per game) for the NCAA Division III Pacers, who are based in Scranton, Pa.
Shaw, a 1997 graduate of Narrowsburg CS, finished his career holding several school records, including rebounds, season – 198 (2000-01); rebounds, career – 625 (1997-01); and three-point field goals, season – 58 (2000-01).
Shaw was named to the PAC Athletic Honor Roll the week of January 15 this season when he averaged 22.0 ppg, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and scored his 1,000th career point as the Pacers went 2–1 in the league.
The co-captain, only the second Marywood player to score 1,000 points, was also named to the PAC Second Team All-Conference squad.
The Pacers finished the season 7–18 overall record and 5–12 in the PAC. They lost in the PAC Tournament quarterfinal to second-seeded Cabrini College by a 69-59 score. In the regular season, the tournament’s seventh seeds had lost to Cabrini 71-48 and 87-44.
