SARAH CRESEITELLI GAINED some mound experience for Liberty this season.

JUNE 22, 2001 -- Overall Record: 7–12
League Record: 3–9 OCIAA Division III
Top Hitters: Sophomore center fielder Kate Yaun hit a team-best .349 this season, batting either leadoff or second in the Lady Indian order. Yaun also led the team in stolen bases with nine and runs scored with 18. Jacquelynn LaBagh and Andrea Ter Bush each hit .286. LaBagh, a senior left fielder, knocked in 11 runs. Ter Bush, a sophomore shortstop, led the Lady Indian offense with 16 RBI.
Top Pitcher: The squad’s number one hurler was junior Michelle Olson. She posted a 6-6 record on the season.
Season Highlight: “We improved over last year,” coach John Wilhelm said. “Overall, it was a pretty good year. We had a pretty young team, we started five sophomores.We’re hoping to improve even more next year.”
Season Lowlight: “The second half of the season,” Wilhelm said. “We expected to win at least a couple more games, but we didn’t.”
Team Awards: At the Liberty Athletic Banquet held on June 5, Tiffany Teichs, Andrea Ter Bush and Kate Yaun were honored. Teichs won the Most Improved Award, Ter Bush was named the Best Offensive Player Award and Yaun captured the MVP trophy.
