WURTSBORO April 2, 2002 A Bronx woman who misjudged a turn on Route 17 ended up in a ravine Thursday afternoon.
According to NYS Police, Monika Kaur, 20, of the Bronx was traveling westbound on Route 17 when she misjudged the curve on Exit 114 in the Town of Mamakating.
Kaurs vehicle, a 1996 Mazda, left the road and careened down an embankment, ending up in a ravine near the highway.
According to State Police, Kaurs passenger, 53-year-old Agnes Morrissey, was injured in the crash. Morrissey was bleeding from the head when she exited the vehicle.
The women were taken away by Mamakating Volunteer and Mobile Life Support Services ambulances. Both were said to have been wearing their seatbelts, and the airbags in the Mazda deployed during the incident.
