MONTICELLO July 2, 2002 Sullivan County is allowed 1,028.81 acres in total for their Empire Zone. So far, 251.19 acres have been allocated.
On Tuesday, June 25, a special meeting of the Sullivan County Legislature was called to amend the current zone. If adopted, it would add approximately 70 acres and three business properties, representing a $123,895,000 investment and 3,075 new jobs.
That would include the Emerald Corporate Center in Rock Hill, the Columbia Monticello Group (the former Ames Plaza where Home Depot, Applebees and Auto Zone will be built), and Global Aquaproduction Systems in Fallsburg.
