WOODRIDGE July 23, 2002 The 91st Anniversary of the Village of Woodridge was celebrated on Sunday, July 21. The all-day festival saw various events take place on Green Avenue.
The festival officially kicked off with a parade down Green Avenue. Antique cars, new Village Mayor James Slater and Sullivan County Chair Leni Binder led the stepoff. Also in the parade was Macaroni the Clown, several different fire companies, and a marching band, to name a few.
Green Avenue itself was lined with more than 40 different vendors. Vendors sold such wares as t-shirts, knives, food, and toys. While people shopped, various forms of entertainment took place throughout the afternoon. WVOS had a live broadcast. There was an antique car show, the Allen Brothers Band, and a martial arts demonstration by Hidden Mountain Martial Arts.
About a few hundred people visited Woodridge throughout the day.
and once again, the annual celebration was considered a success by organizers and attendees.
