Gerald L. Lester
Mechanic/Farmer, 52

Gerald L. "Bubba" Lester of Equinunk, Pa., died unexpectedly on December 30, 2001, at the Community Medical Center Trauma Unit in Scranton, Pa., following a fall at home. He was 52 years of age.

In a family statement, it was said, "Through the years, Jerry always gave of himself to others to help someone who was sick and needed a hand or to play in the band to benefit someone. He would fire up the family tractor because he was the only one who knew the knack of starting it, and drive for miles to help someone with a tow out of a snow bank. He would offer the couch for a place to sleep if someone was in a bad way, never asking anything in return. He always gave completely of himself, and anyone who came in contact with him grew to love him as much as his family and friends did. He looked after his mother for many years until her passing in 2001. His funny sayings and sense of humor will be missed by co-workers and friends alike."
He was a member of the Equinunk Fire Company since 1969 and a member of the Bubba Bangers Hunting Club in Equinunk, Pa.
