Warren P. Salle Jr. of Highland Lake, an operating engineer for Local 825 in New Jersey, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at the Plaza Rehab Center in Park Ridge, N.J. He was 46 years of age.
The son of the late Warren P. Sr. and Frances Borgman Salle, he was born October 20, 1955, in Oakland, N.J.
He is survived by three sons, Daniel of Gandview, Edward and his wife, Patricia of Middletown and Warren and his wife, Nancy, of Chestnut Ridge; five grandchildren; and five sisters.
Services were held Saturday at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home in Suffern.
Burial was private.
Frank Wender
Ret. Machinist, 83
Frank Wender of Napanoch, a retired motor machinist, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at his home. He was 83 years of age.
The son of the late Michael and Frances Sinichin Wender, he was born August 5, 1918, in Thompson
Following service in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Mr. Wender worked as a civil service motor machinist and auto mechanic at Pax River Naval Base of Patuxent, Md.
He is survived by a son, Michael Wender of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; a daughter, Frances Ann Weeks of Hollywood, Md.; a sister, Molly Turner of Monticello; a dear friend, Alfreda Zaky; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers, Anthony, Alexander and Peter Wender.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home in Ellenville with the Rev. Roy Shaffer officiating.
Burial, with full military honors, will be made in St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello.
Gladys E. Mueller
Homemaker, 93
Gladys E. Mueller of Livingston Manor and Farmingdale, died Friday, April 19, 2002, in Farmingdale. She was 93 years of age.
The daughter of the late Morgan and Erma DeWitt Tremain, she was born January 20, 1909, in Grooville. She was the widow of Peter J. Mueller.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Jane Vitale of Farmingdale; two granddaughters, Lucille Karnickof Bellmore and Nancy Derham of Lindenhurst; a grandson, Salvatore P. Vitale of Huntington; five great-grandsons, Justin Karnick, Ryan and Paul Derham, Salvatore and Nicholas Vitale; and a great-granddaughter, Cassandra Elle Vitale.
Services were held Monday at the Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home in Livingston Manor with the Rev. Stewart F. Pohlman officiating.
Burial was made in the Orchard Street Cemetery in Livingston Manor.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Livingston Manor Fire Department or to the Livingston Manor United Methodist Church, both at Livingston Manor, N.Y. 12758.

Maggie Cron of Lookout, Pa., a homemaker and lifelong area resident, died Thursday, April 18, 2002, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 85 years of age.
The daughter of the late Luman and Lillian Townsend Hinkley, she was born April 20, 1917, in Long Eddy. She was the widow of Harry Cron who died in 1975.
Mrs. Cron was a member of the Lookout United Methodist Church and its Ladies Aid in Lookout, Pa.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Cron of Damascus, Pa., and Ronald Cron of Cherry Ridge, Pa.; a daughter, Dorothy Hartman of Monticello; four grandchildren, Jean Smith of White Sulphur Springs, Mike Hansen of Archibald, Pa., Stanley Hartman of Honesdale, Pa., and Edna Hartman of Liberty; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the Lookout United Methodist Church on Saturday with the Rev. Kathy Grecco officiating.
Burial was made at the Lookout Methodist Cemetery on Saturday.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Liberty.
Jacqueline Brown

Jacqueline C. Brown of Ocala, Fla., a retired cafeteria worker for the State University of New York in Binghamton and a former Roscoe resident, died Sunday, April 14, 2002, at the Estelle's Hospice House in Ocala, after a long illness. She was 79 years of age.
The daughter of the late George and Viola Baker Dauch, she was born in Roscoe.
Mrs. Brown moved from Endicott to Ocala in 1995.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Murray E. Brown, at home; a daughter, Susan Skare of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Russell F. Dauch of Roscoe and James E. Dauch of Millsboro, Del.; two grandchidren; three nieces and two nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Muriel Dauch, and a brother, Leonard S. Dauch.
Services were held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. on Friday.
Janice R. Kracht

Janice R. Kracht of Monticello, a 60-year area resident and a retired customer and sales representative for the New York Telephone Co., in Monticello, died Tuesday, April 16, 2002, in Louisville, Kty. She was 76 years of age.
The daughter of the late Robert and Alma Weatherby Porter, she was born June 22, 1925, in East Haven, Conn. She was the widow of Melvin R. Kracht who died March 22, 2000.
Mrs. Kracht was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Bailey-Richmond Post No. 9588, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Monticello, and a former board member of the Sullivan County Conservative Party.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Janis Kracht of Louisville, Kty., and Thomas and Linda Kracht of Moss Point, Miss.; three brothers, Scott Porter and Philip Porter, both of East Haven, Conn., and Charles Porter of the state of Florida; two sisters, Shirley Desko of Erie, Pa., and Beverly Sundberg of Meriden, Conn.; six grandchildren, Daisy Odom, Candia Kracht, Lauren Kracht, Matthew Kracht, Melissa Kracht and Thomas Kracht Jr.; and two great-grandchildren, Mason Odom and Alex Kracht. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Kracht.
A memorial service was held at the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Liberty on Monday with the Rev. Joan LaLiberte officiating.

Memorial services for Elwood Seeley of Grooville, who died February 14, 2002, will be incorporated into the regular 11 a.m. worship service at the Grooville Free Methodist Church on Sunday, April 28. The Rev. Craig Saunders is the pastor of the church.
Private burial of the cremains will be made in the Lew Beach Cemetery.

Elsie S. Augustine of Livingston Manor, a retired owner and operator, along with her husband, of F & S Machine Shop in Livingston Manor and a 50-year area resident, died Thursday, April 18, 2002, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 78 years of age.
The daughter of the late Charles H. and Edna Fretus Trask, she was born July 10, 1923, in Old Saybrook, Conn. She was the widow of Vincent M. Augustine.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and John Krupp of Livingston Manor; a stepson, Vincent Augustine Jr. and his wife, Patricia of White Sulphur Springs; a stepdaughter, Florence Diescher of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six grandchildren, Diane Augustine, Roseanne Edwards, William Lare, Cathy Speaks, Amy Krupp and Kristin Krupp; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Spring.
Cremation was private.
A committal service will be held at a later date at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Livingston Manor.

Wiliam E. Lutz of Cragsmoor, the owner of B & H Garage & Body Shop for 37 years, died Saturday, April 20, 2002, at his home. He was 66 years of age.
The son of the late William J. and Irene Lutz, he was born in Lindenhurst on March 1, 1936.
In a family statement, it was said, "He was a dedicated community member of 42 years. Bill was a 25-year volunteer to the Ellenville High School Football Program and a past president of the Ellenville Twilight Softball League, serving for 15 years."
He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1971 and a member of the Walker Valley Methodist Church.
Mr. Lutz is survived by his wife, Betteanne Lutz, at home; five children and their spouses, Lisa and David Carroll of Walker Valley, William C. and Tami Lutz of Pine Bush, Lawrence and Dana Lutz of Napanoch, Alan and Brenda Lutz of Cragsmoor and Christopher and MaryBeth Lutz of Napanoch; 10 grandchildren, 2nd Class Petty Officer William P. Lutz of San Diego, Calif., Stacey Lutz of Pine Bush, Craig and Erica Lutz of Wawarsing, David J. and Julie Carroll of Walker Valley, and Jason and Lauren Lutz and Taylor and Emily Lutz, all of Napanoch; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria and Robert Thompson of Lindenhurst and Joan and James Kiernan of Medford; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles and Carol Frost of Pine Bush and Gordon and Judy Frost of Grahamsville; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend and business partner for 30 years, Gary Clearwater of Ellenville.
Friends may call at the Loucks Funeral Home, Route 209, Ellenville on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Raymond Younger officiating.
Burial will be made in the Fantinekill Cemetery in Ellenville.

Shirley Fitch of Liberty, an eight-year area resident and an employee in the deli and fish market of ShopRite, died at her home on Wednesday, April 17, 2002. She was 53 years of age.
The daughter of the late Bruno and Louise Cuthberth Robinson, she was born November 5, 1948, in Beaufort, S.C.
Mrs. Fitch was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Charles Fitch, at home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Danielle Robinson of Chicago, Ill., and Rodney and Mary Robinson of Beaufort, S.C.; a daughter, Crystal Robinson of the Bronx; a brother, Bruno "Mickey" Robinson of Beaufort, S.C.; two sisters, Ruby Green of Beaufort, S.C., and Ruth Payne of Charleston, S. C.; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by a stepbrother, Leon Robinson, and a sister, Johnnie May Robinson.
Friends may call at the Liberty Baptist Church, 7 North Main St., Liberty, on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Robert C. Nadelen officiating.

Madeline "Maddy" Crotty of Callicoon Center, a 21-year area resident formerly of Hastings-on-Hudson and a retired Tupperware manager, died Sunday, April 21, 2002, at the Grover M. Hermann Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Callicoon. She was 87 years of age.
The daughter of the late George and "Lena" Madeline Lutz Hill, she was born January 24, 1915, in New York City. She was the widow of John J. Crotty who died on May 16, 1974.
Mrs. Crotty was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in North Branch, a past president of the Callicoon Center Ruralettes, past president of St. Matthews Lutheran Church Ladies Aid Society, a former member of St. Matthew's Church, past president of the Ladies Auxiliary to Clason Point Post No. 1408, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in the Bronx, a former Civilian Defense Commander and a past president of the Williston Social and Athletic Club.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John J. and Rose Crotty of Callicoon Center; a granddaughter, Robin Crotty; and a cousin, Marian Hozempa of Forty Fort, Pa.
Friends may call at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Grace Lutheran Church in North Branch with Pastor Kristen Anderson officiating.
