William F. Fisher, 75
Ret. Hvy. Equip Oper.

William Francis Fisher of Theresa, a former longtime resident of Hortonville and a retired heavy equipment operator for the Town of Delaware, died Monday, April 22, 2002, at his home. He was 75 years of age.
The son of the late Charles and Katherine Kucser Fisher, he was born October 15, 1926, in Hortonville.
Mr. Fisher was a member of the Hortonville Volunteer Fire Department and the Tamarack Hunting Club.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joyce Robisch Fisher, at home; a daughter, Lori Squires of Bethel; a brother, Harry Fisher of Hortonville; a sister, Eleanor Sabba of Massapequa Park; two grandchildren, Kenneth William Squires Jr. and Kyle Lee Squires; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 5, at the Hortonville Firehouse at 2 p.m.
Cremation was made in Theresa.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 169 Green St., Kingston, N.Y. 12401 or to the Hortonville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 71, Hortonville, N.Y. 12745.
Local arrangements were made by the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Callicoon.

Eva Rasmussen
Homemaker, 55

Eva Rasmussen of Roscoe, a homemaker and a longtime area resident, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 55 years of age.
The daughter of the late Peter S. and Evelyn Barsky Ehlich, she was born April 13, 1947, in the Bronx.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Judith Ehlich of Chesnee, S.C.; and several cousins.
Services were private, followed by burial in the family plot in Chesnee, S. C.
Local arrangements were made by the Harris Funeral Home in Roscoe.

Manfredo Correa
Gardener, 64

Manfredo Correa of Monticello, a gardener and a longtime area resident, died Wednesday, April 27, 2002, at the Seelig Division of Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 64 years of age.
The son of the late Santiago and Maria Teresa Rivera Correa, he was born April 26, 1937, in Salinas, Puerto Rico.
Mr. Correa was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and worked on many beautification projects in the village of Monticello, using his gardening talent to enhance the community.
He is survived by many friends and neighbors.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Liberty Cemetery on Cold Spring Road with the Rev. Willy Smith officiating.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Harris Funeral Home in Liberty.

John H. Schulte, 79

John H. Schulte of the state of Florida died February 11, 2002, in Florida. He was 79 years of age.
Mr. Schulte is survived by his wife, Barbara Wagner Schulte, at home; a daughter, Linda Hicks of New Paltz; a son, Frederick Schulte of Liberty; a sister and brother-n-law, Mathilda and John Gibbons Jr. of New Paltz; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Lanie Wagner; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 1 p.m. at the Copeland Funeral Home, 162 South Putt Corners Rd., New Paltz.

Emma Gregory
Homemaker, 92

Emma Gregory of Horton Brook, a homemaker and a longtime area resident, died Saturday, January 26, 2002, at the Roscoe Community Nursing Home. She was 92 years of age.
The daughter of the late Frank and Veste Hinckley Rood, she was born February 7, 1909, in Horton Brook. She was the widow of Albert Gregory.
Mrs. Gregory was a member of the United Church of Roscoe.
She is survived by two nieces, Beverley Van Valkenburg and her husband, Wayne, of Horton Brook and Betty Hineman of New Jersey; and two nephews, Rodney Morgan and his wife, Sharon, of Horton Brook and Edward Rood of Ellenville.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Horton Cemetery in Horton with the Rev. Donald Baker officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the R & R Volunteer Ambulance Corps of the Cooks Falls-Horton Fire Company, both at Roscoe, N.Y. 12776.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Harris Funeral Home in Roscoe.

Fred Clayton Jones
Laborer/Const. Wkr., 54

Fred Clayton Jones of Liberty, a laborer and construction worker, died Saturday, April 20, 2002, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 54 years of age.
The son of the late Walter and Dorothy Conklin Jones, he was born in Liberty on November 26, 1947.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Sherwood Jones, at home; three brothers, Frank Jones of Mountaindale, Walter Jones of Loch Sheldrake and Lee Jones of Hurleyville; five sisters, Catherine Irwin of Monticello, Anna Belle Rios and Eva Salazar, both of Orlando, Fla., MaryJane Zamora of Neversink and Alfreda Ackerley of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Hallie Jones and Charlotte Almodovar, and a brother, Eugene Jones.
Services were held Wednesday at the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Liberty with the Rev. Robert C. Nadelen officiating.
Burial was made in the Hodge Cemetery in Aden.

Sarah Elizabeth Box
16-months Old

Sarah Elizabeth Box, the 16-month-old daughter of Donald C. Box Jr. and Melody J. Kenyon of Galilee, Pa., died Sunday, April 21, 2002, at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Pa., following a valiant fight with cancer.
She was born November 22, 2000, in Honesdale, Pa.
In a family statement, it was said, "Sarah was an enjoyable child who loved to be outdoors. She loved music and her buddy, Elmo. She was a friendly, smiling and laughing child and spread much joy in her brief time here. She will be missed by all."
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her paternal grandmother, Judith Murtha of Honesdale, Pa., her maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Kenyon of Galilee, Pa.; two brothers, Jeremy Box and Mike Clemo, both of Honesdale, and Jamie Box of Beach Lake; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call at the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St., Honesdale, Pa., on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Lauren C. Hertzler Sr. of the Grace Baptist Church in Callicoon officiating.
Interment will be made in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Galilee.

Marie Amore
Homemaker

Marie Amore of Island Park, L.I., a former Brooklyn resident, died April 21, 2002.
She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Gaffney of Island Park, L.I.; a; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Tina Amore of Woodbourne; and two grandchildren, Franky and Michael Amore.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Wednesday at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Island Park.
Interment was made in the Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, L.I.

Helen I.W. Howland
Homemaker, 93

Helen Isabelle Washington Howland, a 2 1/2-year resident of Greensboro, N.C. and a former Liberty resident, died Thursday, January 24, 2002, at the home of her daughter in Greensboro, N.C. She was 93 years of age.
She was born January 14, 1909, in Liberty and lived there much of her life before moving to St. Petersburg, Fla., with her family where she lived until 2 1/2 years ago. She was the widow of Vernon S. Howland who died in 1985 after 54 years of marriage.
Mrs. Howland was a communicant of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Greensboro and will be remembered for her dignity, her grace and her humor.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Maureen H. and Michael Parker of Greensboro, N.C., and Susan and George Levings of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Theresa Vasko and Patricia Whiffin of Pittsfield, Mass.; five grandchildren, Dena Parker and Michael Parker and his wife, Parag, all of Greensboro, N.C., Elizabeth Parker of Newark, Del., Clay Olesen of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Mark Olesen of New York City.
A Memorial Mass will be offered at 11:45 Saturday at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 264 North Main St., Liberty, with Monsignor Edward Straub officiating.
Burial will be made in the Liberty Cemetery in Liberty.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Church, 264 North Main St., Liberty, N.Y. 12754.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Harris Funeral Home in Liberty.

Doris Cutler

Doris Cutler of Monticello, a longtime area resident, died Saturday, April 20, 2002, in Delray Beach, Fla.
In a family statement, it was said "She was a beloved wife, devoted mother and grandmother. She will live in our hearts forever."
She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda, a son-in-law, Paul, and two grandsons, Robert and Brian.

Kevin M. Kelly, 53
Ret. Hvy. Equip Oper.

Kevin M. Kelly of White Sulphur Springs, a lifelong Sullivan County resident and a retired heavy equipment operator for the Town of Liberty Highway Department, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at his home, after a long illness. He was 53 years of age.
The son of the late Edward Michael and Melvina Belmont Kelly, he was born January 31, 1949, in Liberty.
Mr. Kelly was a Vietnam War veteran of the U. S. Army and had received numerous service medals. He was a member of the Vietnam War Veterans of Sullivan County Chapter #315 and the Clarence Hoyt Post No. 9217, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Liberty.
He was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, the Liberty Elks Lodge #1545 and the IOOB Chapter #583, all in Liberty.
Mr. Kelly is survived by his parents of Porterville, Calif.; his wife, Norma Chapman Kelly, at home; three daughters, Jasmine Wilson of White Sulphur Springs, Heather Kelly of Grahamsville and Shana Kelly, at home; a brother, Joseph Kelly of Columbus, N. Mex.; three sisters, Peggy Osterhout of Poway, Calif., and Patricia Williams and Pam Mootz, both of Jeffersonville; two grandchildren, Robert and Christopher Wilson; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:45 a.m. on Friday at St. Peter's Church with Rev. Ivan Csete officiating.
Burial will be made in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs with full military honors.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Liberty.

Bernie Heller, 85
Ret. Dairy Farmer

Bernie Heller of Bethel, a retired dairy farmer of over 40 years, a Town of Bethel assessor, a New York State appraiser, a real estate broker and a longtime area resident, died Monday, April 22, 2002, at his home. He was 85 years of age.
The son of the late Isidore and Anna Shein Heller, he was born December 20, 1916, in New York City.
Mr. Heller was a past vice president and a charter member of the Bethel Lions Club, a member of Temple Beth-El Synagogue and a member of the New York State Board of Realtors.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche Jaffe Heller, at home; a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Sarah Heller of New Hampshire; two daughters, Michele Pidgon of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ronita Heller of Albany; a brother, Morris Heller of Mongaup Valley; a sister, Elinore Rosen of Florida; and four grandchildren, Brett, Jennifer, Ariana and Perin.
Graveside services and burial were held Tuesday at the Temple Beth-El Cemetery in Bethel with Rabbi Samuel Fishbein officiating.
Shiva will be observed at the family home until Friday.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home in Monticello.
