ITHACA November 29, 2002 Danielle Austin, a 2001 Roscoe Central School graduate recently completed her sophomore soccer season at Ithaca College.
She appeared in a total of 13 games for the Bombers this past season. Austin started in four of those contests.
In Ithacas season-opening win over Elizabethtown (Pa.) College, Austin recorded the first assist of her collegiate soccer career.
Ithaca finished the season with an overall record of 13-6-2 and a spotless 7-0-0 mark in the Empire 8 Conference. The Bombers tied the conference championship game with Nazareth, 0-0, but lost on penalty kicks, 4-2.
The Bombers fell to Brockport by the same score in the opening round of the Empire Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) tournament.
In her varsity career at RCS, Austin scored a total of 117 goals and helped the Lady Blue Devils reach the semifinals of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHAA) Class D girls soccer tournament in 2000.
In 1999, Austin, then a junior, was named the girls soccer MVP of the now defunct Western Sullivan League (WSL).
