ROCK HILL — April 8, 2003 – It’s official – the first official occupant of the Emerald Corporate Park is on board.
Crystal Run Healthcare, based in Wallkill near the Galleria Mall, signed a contract Friday with the county to build a new center at the Rock Hill industrial park sometime in the next two years.
According to County Manager Dan Briggs, chairman of the corporate park board, the company will still have to jump through a few hoops to develop its plans for the county (signing agreements with doctors, planning to erect a building, etc.), but they are officially moving to Sullivan County.
And with that, there will be a “couple hundred jobs” for area residents, Briggs added.
“These are the kinds of jobs that not only have we encouraged but we’re ecstatic to see coming to Sullivan County,” he noted. “These are the types of jobs we’d like to see for our children and the rest of the community.”
Crystal Run Healthcare “provides a variety of healthcare services, mostly on an outpatient basis,” Briggs explained.
The company has doctors on staff specializing in different areas of expertise to help patients.
They will be erecting a 60,000-70,000-square-foot building sometime in the coming two years and are expected to open the doors in late 2004 or 2005, Briggs said.
This is a good sign for the corporate park, he noted.
“I think this reflects the hard work the board has put into ensuring its success,” he added.
