LIVINGSTON MANOR May 16, 2003 Parents and students at Livingston Manor Central School will see a familiar face at Board of Education meetings this fall.
The district announced yesterday that Middle High School Principal Debra Lynker will take over the helm of the district upon the retirement of Superintendent Dr. Ken Gray this June.
A search that began after Gray announced his resignation earlier this year was whittled down to three candidates who met with the public and staff in the last few weeks. Lynkers appointment will be made official on May 19 at 7 p.m. during the regular Board of Education meeting.
Lynker has been with the Manor school system for 14 years, the first nine as a high school math teacher and the latter five as principal.
Currently in the process of building a new home in the Beaverkill valley, Lynker was thrilled with the news of her appointment.
I have a strong commitment to the district, and that will continue, she said. Im thrilled!
She will take over the superintendency on July 1.
