Cheryl De Valle, 54
Former Ins. Employee
Cheryl Kathleen Del Valle of Bloomingburg, a former 16-year employee of Empire Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 21, 2003 at the Horton Campus of the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. She was 54 years of age.
She was born June 24, 1949, in Brooklyn.
Mrs. Del Valle moved to Bloomingburg in 1977 and was a devoted member of the Christian Faith Fellowship Church in Middletown.
In a family statement, it was said, "She was a loving grandmother and enjoyed all children. She was vibrant, friendly and outgoing. She always made other people feel comfortable. She had a smile that could light up a room."
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Ronald T. Del Valle, at home; three sons, Kwane of Middletown, Kyle and his wife, Jamie, of Bloomingburg, and Reginald of Middletown; a daughter-in-law, Heidi of Middletown; seven grandchildren, Destinee, Kendrick, Syeira, Kamron, Araina, Reggie Jr. and Deshira; an aunt and an uncle; several cousins; and many friends.
Friends may call at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. at Christian Faith Fellowship Church, 10 East Main St., Middletown, with Pastor Joe McKelvey officiating.
Burial will be made in the family plot in the Rural Cemetery in Bloomingburg.

Steven T. Collins

Steven T. Collins of Hawthorne, a former resident of Yulan and a corrections officer, died Friday, November 21, 2003, at Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne. He was 50 years of age.
The son of Edward and Eileen Brinkerhoff Collins, he was born April 16, 1953, in New York City.
Following graduation from high school, he received maritime training at Piney Point, Md., and later attended the Daytona Beach Community College. Mr. Collins had been a corrections officer at the Woodbourne Correctional Facility and later at the Arthur Kill Bedford Hills Facility in Westchester County.
While living in Florida, Mr. Collins was involved with the American Indians and became a member of the Southeastern Inter-Tribal Council. He was an avid biker and a member of the Tribesman Native American Motorcycle Club. He was a former member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Yulan, where he received first communion and confirmation.
Mr. Collins was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1975 to 1978 at Fort Hood, Texas.
He is survived by his mother of Yulan; his father of Eldred; a son, Thomas Collins, stationed with the U.S. Navy in Italy; a daughter, Kathleen Collins of Hawaii; two brothers, David Collins of Sarasota, Fla., and Patrick Sr. and his wife, Carmela Collins, of Yulan; a granddaughter, Lily Collins; several nieces and nephews, including Ronald, Jennifer, Michael, Patrick Jr. and Kelsey Collins; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Yulan with the Rev. Anthony Moore officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Eldred.

Gladys Borchert of Woodbourne, a retired assembly worker, died Thursday, November 20, 2003 at the Skilled Nursing Unit of the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 83 years of age.
Mrs. Borchert was a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program at the Sullivan County Adult Day Care Center and the AARP.
In a family statement, it was said, "Gladys was a great animal lover and a very caring and giving person."
She is survived by a nephew, Robert and his wife, Lillie Helthaler; and two grand-nieces and nephews.
Private cremation was arranged by the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home in Woodbourne.

Cathy R. Moskowitz of South Fallsburg, a retired switchboard operator for Kutsher's of Monticello, died Tuesday, November 11, 2003, at her home. She was 59 years of age.
The daughter of the late Morris and Rosalyn Stern Moskowitz, she was born February 26, 1944.
In a family statement, it was said, "Cathy will be remembered for her trusting nature. She will be missed by everyone who truly loved her."
She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Eli and Mercy Moskowitz; a sister and brother-in-law, Audrey and William Kenney; three nieces, Silissa and Ariana Kenney and Mindi McEnaney; and two cousins, Marilyn Carl and Mitchell Gettleman.
Graveside services and burial were held Sunday at the Hurleyville Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home in Woodbourne.

Connie Dawn Meyer Riley died Thursday, November 13, 2003, at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.
In a family statement, it was said, "All of her family and friends mourn her sudden death and will miss her deeply."
She is survived by two daughters, Soleil and Erin.
She was buried next to her father, George A. Meyer.

Wayne Daniel McKenley Sr. of Barryville, a buyer/bidder for A. Alport & Sons of Fallsburg and a longtime area resident, died Saturday, November 22, 2003, at his home. He was 48 years of age.
The son of the late Joan VanKeuren, he was born November 15, 1955, in Atlanta, Ga.
In a family statement, it was said, "Wayne had a lust for life and his family, which included being an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Wednesday Night Men's Bowling League at Liberty Lanes as well as a member of the Eldred Mountain Stream Rod and Gun Club, Inc."
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Connie Breen McKenley, and a son, Wayne McKenley Jr., both at home; a daughter, Karalee McKenley and her fiance, Heath Bucksbee, of Narrowsburg; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Bonnie McKenley of Ohio; two sisters, Debra Perry and Frank of Ansonia, Conn., and Sandra Specht and her husband, Richard, of Monticello; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 195 Broadway, Monticello, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ninon Hutchinson officiating.

Mary Maxine Sigler of Slate Hill, a homemaker and a longtime area resident, died Saturday, November 22, 2003, at the Orange County Residential Health Care Facility in Goshen. She was 84 years of age.
The daughter of the late John and Edith Payne Taulbee, she was born February 28, 1919, in Osage, Okla.
She is survived by her husband, Richard E. Sigler Sr., at home; a daughter, Cheryl Loiodice of Marcellus; two step-sons, Richard E. Sigler Jr. of Westbrookville and David Michael Sigler of Burlingham; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, 72 West Main St., Middletown.
Burial will be made in the Pine Hill Cemetery in the Town of Wawayanda.
Michael L. Killian

Michael L. Killian of Liberty, a radio technician and a lifelong area resident, died Saturday, November 22, 2003, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 46 years of age.
The son of Leon and Jeanne Farrand Killian, he was born July 3, 1957, in the Loomis Hospital in Liberty.
Mr. Killian was a communicant of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Liberty. A graduate of Liberty High School, he held the school record in pole vaulting. Mr. Killian was a former employee of Farkill Communications, Inc., and a former member of the Liberty Fire Department Ontario Hose Co. #3. He was a talented woodcarver.
In a family statement, it was said, "Mike was one of the most honest people a person could meet. He was artistic and talented, as reflected in the success of his hands' work. He had a remarkable sense of humor, great respect for the outdoors and deep love for his family and friends. Our lives will be forever changed with his passing."
He is survived by his parents, a sister, Lynn P. Killian, and a brother Patrick S. and his wife, Elissa Killian, all of Liberty; five nieces and nephews, Mikaela, Charles, Alison, William and Harrison; and many dear cousins. He was predeceased by an infant brother, John, who died in 1960.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 264 North Main St., Liberty, with Monsignor Edward Straub officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Peter's Cemetery in Liberty.

Odd Nordahl of Cuddebackville, the owner of Nordahl Hardwood Flooring Inc., in Cuddebackville and a longtime area resident, died Saturday, November 22, 2003, at the Horton Campus of the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 60 years of age.
The son of the late Alf and Vera Inversen Nordahl, he was born April 6, 1943, in Haugesund, Norway.
Mr. Nordahl was a member of the Sons of Norway.
He is survived by his wife, Anne-Lise Ellefsen Nordahl, at home; two daughters, May-Brit Nordahl of Westbrookville, and Solvi-Anne Colon and her husband, Melvin, of Port Jervis; a son, Alf-Bjarne Nordahl and his wife, Valeska, of Middletown; two brothers, Johnny Nordahl and Alf-Bernard Nordahl, both of Haugesund, Norway; three grandchildren, Justin and Emily Colon and Kristoffer Terracino; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, with the Rev. Betsy Diver officiating
