LOCH SHELDRAKE July 25, 2003 Basketball camp is a time when every little boy and girl can shoot hoops and dream theyre in the NBA or the WNBA, scoring the winning points for their favorite team.
In the past two weeks, basketball camp was held at the Sullivan County Community College (SCCC) fieldhouse.
Last week, was the girls basketball camp, this week the boys had their turn.
SCCC Athletic Director Chris DePew said in total there were 81 campers this year.
This is the biggest camp weve ever had, said DePew happily.
DePew has been the camp director for six years.
Other coaches were Assistant Director and Facilities Coordinator, Bryan Bury; Rob Bernhardt; Kyle Bright; Kyle Humphrey, a recent graduate of Tri-Valley Central School who will be attending the University of Colorado this fall; T.J. On a typical day at camp, the kids did calisthenics, then some warm-up drills, after that they got into teams and played a basketball game.
Im really happy with it, its going real well and hopefully it continues to grow next year, said DePew.
