ELDRED — February 3, 2004 – The Eldred varsity wrestling team picked up its second win of its inaugural season last Thursday night.
The Yellowjackets defeated Liberty, 60-12, in an Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association (OCIAA) Division II dual meet.
Three Eldred wrestlers earned pinfall victories as the Yellowjackets improved to 2-3 overall on the season and 1-3 in OCIAA competition. Scoring those pins were Nick Proscia at 135 lbs., Chuck Chandler at 152 lbs. and Kyle Bosch at 275 lbs.
Eldred Coach Joe Rubino noted that Proscia is “an eighth-grader who had a big win.”
“It was a good match,” Rubino said. “These guys have been practicing hard and learning some new moves. It’s paying off and I’m very happy.”
Liberty Coach John Lennon also said that it “was a good match.”
Scoring victories for Liberty (0-3, 0-3 OCIAA) were Woody Wilson at 130 lbs., who pinned Eldred’s Steven Geiger, and Mark LaGattuta at 140 lbs., who posted an 18-2 technical fall win over Nick McCormick.

112 lbs. – No contest.
119 lbs. – Mark Thornton (E) won by forfeit.
125 lbs. – Jeremy Feldbauer (E) won by forfeit.
130 lbs. – Woody Wilson (L) pinned Steven Geiger in 1:01.
135 lbs. – Nick Proscia (E) pinned Lauren Michaud in 5:30.
140 lbs. – Mark LaGattuta (L) defeated Nick McCormick by technical fall, 18-2.
145 lbs. – No contest.
152 lbs. – Chuck Chandler (E) pinned Justin Earl in :59.
160 lbs. – Marcus Chandler (E) won by forfeit.
171 lbs. – Walter Kriedell (E) won by forfeit.
189 lbs. – Corey Proscia (E) won by forfeit.
215 lbs. – Tim Hallock (E) won by forfeit.
275 lbs. – Kyle Bosch (E) pinned Peter Pekny in 4:05.
