LIVINGSTON MANOR February 24, 2004 The Livingston Manor Wildcat basketball team defeated a scrappy squad from Roscoe last Thursday night, 72-53, in an OCIAA Division VI contest.
The Wildcats led from the opening buzzer and took a 37-24 lead at the end of the first half.
The Blue Devils of Roscoe battled back in the third period, outscoring the Wildcats by a 20-18 margin. But Manor (7-9, 4-4 OCIAA) outscored Roscoe (5-11, 3-4 OCIAA) 17-9 in the final quarter.
But the Blue Devils second-half surge wasnt enough to keep them from being savaged by a fired-up Wildcat squad that was fiercely determined to win one for a supportive home crowd.
Four Wildcats reached double figures in the scoring column. Leading the way was senior forward Anthony Larry, who finished with a game-high 21 points. Terrance McCann netted 14 points for the Wildcats, while Patrick Branning and Timmy Bryant added 13 and 11, respectively.
For the Blue Devils, Dan DeVantier scored 16 points, Vinnie Carpinone recorded 14 points and Brenden Hendrickson had 10.
Manor was 6-of-10 (60 percent) at the free-throw line, while Roscoe was 7-of-17 (41 percent).
