SULLIVAN COUNTY July 6, 2004 The Catskill Junior Tour (CJT) recently kicked off its 2004 golf season with a pair of tournaments.
For the past several years, the CJT has conducted a series of events at area golf courses in an effort to introduce boys and girls ages 7 and 17 to the popular sport.
The first event of the 2004 CJT season, the Berger & Solomon Junior Tournament, was held on June 9 at Shawangunk Country Club in Ellenville.
On June 24, dozens of young golfers competed in the second event of the season, the Ellenville Lumber Jr. Tournament, at the Nevele Grande Resort in Ellenville.
The young golfers played nine holes at each course.
We hold two nine-hole events at the beginning of the season just to get things going before we get in to full swing with our 18-hole events, CJT President Tom DuPlessis said.
Anyone looking for more information about the program is encouraged to visit the Web site www.cjtour.org. or call the CJT office at 434-5211.
Results from the two tournaments are as follows
