PRINCETON, NJ December 7, 2004 Tri-Valley alum Heather Iatauro recently competed with her Princeton University teammates at the NCAA Division I Womens National Cross Country Meet at Indiana State University in Terra Haute, Indiana.
Iatauro placed 180th of 250 finishers to be the sixth girl on the Princeton team, which placed 18th among 31 qualifying teams at the event.
She is the first freshman from Princeton to participate in the NCAA Division I national meet and the fourth former T-V Lady Bear runner to compete at the meet. The other three were Caryn and Kate Landau, who both competed for Georgetown University, and Elaine Stratton, who attended Cortland State College and competed in the AIAW Cross Country Nationals in 1978. At that time, the AIAW meet was the only national championship meet for women who competed on Division I collegiate cross country teams.
