ROSCOE December 10, 2004 The Eldred Yellowjackets narrowly edged the Falcons of the Family Foundation School, 71-69, on Wednesday night in the consolation game of the second annual Blue Devils Basketball Tournament hosted by Roscoe Central School.
The Falcons edged Eldred in the first two quarters to take a 32-26 lead at halftime.
But in the second half, the Yellowjackets came out stinging. They outscored the Falcons by a 25 to 18 margin in the third period and 20-19 in the final frame to win by two points.
The Yellowjackets are coached this year by Doug Reiser, while the Falcons are led by Ted Towsley.
Five Eldred players reached double digits in the scorebook. Leading the way were Patrick Kean with 20 points and Tyler King with 14. James Jennings and Nicholas Klufas each netted 13 and Kyle Ranne added 11.
Tom Gould scored a team-high 20 points for the Falcons. His teammates Will Gahan and Bryan Dobbs registered 15 and 12 points, respectively.
Stats from the free-throw line: Eldred went 5-for-10 (50 percent); The Family School was 7-for-13 (54 percent).
