HARRIS — January 4, 2005 – Rose Toscano and Scott Ricco knew they were in the running to have the first baby of the year.
Doctors had told her that January 1 was her due date, and they proved exceedingly correct.
On Saturday at 6:19 p.m., Cody Scott Ricco entered the world and became Sullivan County’s first newborn of 2005.
Delivered by C-section, Cody is a healthy baby boy who will join siblings Chloe Ricco, 3, and Jose Bayron, 5, at home in Liberty.
His grandparents are Richard Ricco of Mongaup Valley and Deborah DelVecchio of Florida, along with a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
He even has an uncle, Rose’s brother Dennis, who possesses one of his mother’s kidneys, thanks to a transplant three years ago.
Mom, dad and son were resting comfortably over the weekend at Catskill Regional Medical Center’s Harris division, and the proud parents wished to thank the maternity department’s nurses and Drs. Darshan Trivedi and Carlos Carreno.
