James Toohey
Ret. Foreman, 79
James Toohey of Bloomingburg, a retired foreman at the Woolworth's warehouse in the Bronx and a longtime area resident, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at the Horton campus of the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 79 years of age.
The son of the late James and Margaret Blauvelt Toohey, he was born December 29, 1925, in the Bronx. He was the widower of Murial Gordon Toohey who died in 1973.
A veteran of the Marine Corps of World War II, he also later served in the Merchant Marines and the Army.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Michael Mangan of Wurtsboro; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Sandra Toohey of Wurtsboro; four brothers, Francis Toohey of Easton, Pa., Thomas Toohey of Monroe, Peter Toohey of Washingtonville and John Toohey of Austin, Tex.; a sister, Jean Marie Hotle of Meridan, Idaho; two grandsons, Jordan Toohey and Jameson Toohey, both of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home in Port Jervis.
Burial was made in Calvary Cemetery in Queens.
Stephen Conklin
Ret. Carpenter, 64
Stephen Paul Conklin of Bloomingburg, a retired carpenter and a longtime area resident, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. He was 64 years of age.
The son of the late Joseph E. Sr. and Susie Rose Conklin, he was born August 17, 1940, in Port Jervis. He was the widower of Alvina Gannon Conklin.
A fisherman and hunter, he loved the outdoors and was a member of the Wurtsboro Moose Lodge.
Mr. Conklin is survived by a step-son, Michael Hand of Fair Oaks; a sister, Peggy Sink of Slate Hill; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Carl K. Conklin and Joseph E. Conklin Jr.
Services were held Saturday at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home in Port Jervis.
Burial was made in the Rural Valley Cemetery in Cuddebackville.
Dennis P. Nash Sr.
Ret. Dock Worker, 53
Dennis P. Nash Sr. of Liberty, a retired dock worker for the Conservative Gas Company in Wyandanch, New York and an eight-year area resident, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at his home. He was 53 years of age.
The son of Robert L. Nash and the late Georgette Bozollo Nash, he was born March 15, 1952, in Jamaica, N.Y.
Mr. Nash was a member of the North Amityville Fire Company and served as chief from 1985-1987.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Willis Nash, at home; two sons, Dennis P. Nash Jr. and Johnathan M. Nash, both of Liberty; his father of Liberty; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Gail Nash of Hollis; a sister and brother-in-law, Georgette and James Polous of Mastic Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 245 No. Main St., Liberty with Monsignor Edward Straub officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Peter's Cemetery in Liberty.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Harris Funeral Home in Liberty.
Florence Ruggeri
Former Cashier, 69
Florence A. Ruggeri of South Fallsburg, a former cashier for the Raleigh Hotel Sundry and Gift Shop, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 69 years of age.
The daughter of the late Herbert and Marion Harney Prince, she was born March 5, 1936, in Yonkers.
She is survived by her companion of many years, James Reynolds, at home; two sons, Joseph A. Ruggeri of Branford, Conn., and Herbert M. Ruggeri of Lake Mary, Fla.; a daughter, Diane E. Lorino of White Lake; a sister, Mary Cardamone of Yonkers; six grandchildren, Nicole, Denise, Jessica, Chelsea, Joey and Megan; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway, Monticello, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be made in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Yonkers.
