Gold Outing
Set for May 18

HIGHLAND —May 3, 2005 – The Town of Highland Lions Club will host its Annual Spring Golf Outing on Wednesday, May 18 at the Swan Lake Golf and Country Club.
The annual event is a fund raiser for the Town of Highland Lions Club’s Scholarship Fund for graduating seniors of the Eldred Central School District.
This cost to play is $70 per player and includes: greens fees, golf cart, continental breakfast, hot dogs and hamburgers at the turn, barbecue at end, beer, soda and prizes. Foursomes, singles, men and women are all welcome to attend.
This year’s event features a new time, format and schedule. That schedule includes a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m., with registration, a putting contest, driving range access, Mulligan sale and a 50/50 raffle. At 9:30 a.m., the tournament will begin with a shotgun start.
There will be prizes for nearest to the pin on all par 3 holes, longest drive (four categories), least number of putts, cart twosome low gross (best ball), individual low gross, foursomes low gross, individual high gross and straightest drive as well as an on the green wager. The hole-in-one prize will be a new Ford motor vehicle, courtesy of Narrowsburg Motors.
At 2 p.m., everyone will return to the clubhouse for a barbecue. During the meal, scores will be tallied and prizes will be awarded.
The event is limited to the first 15 foursomes to register.
Anyone who would like to participate in the event may e-mail a reservation to: Blief@yahoo.com. The reservation should include the golfer’s name, address, phone number and, if the golfer is part of a group, the number of people in the group.
