MONTICELLO September 2, 2005 Of course the world knows of the total devastation that Hurricane Katrina did to the Gulf Coast in southern Louisiana; Mississippi and Alabama and the pain and suffering that the people from those areas are going through.
Contributions are now being made to assist the displaced citizens and among those contributing are the members of the C.K.G. Billings Amateur Driving Series. The members have pledged $10,000 to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund of the American Red Cross.
To assist in the aid required to bring recovery and relief to those who have suffered immeasurable losses from this natural disaster, the members of the C.K.G. Billings Amateur Driving Series have banded together and are donating $10,000 to the Relief Fund and before its all over, that number will be rising, Im sure of it, said Peter Gerry, president of the Delvin Miller Amateur Drivers Association, which sponsors the Billings Series.
Gerry encourages everyone who is financially able to make a donation to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.
Contributions can be sent directly to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. The address is: American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013.
All contributions will be tax deductible and I know will be received with deep appreciation by those in dire need, Gerry added.
