THE ANTRIM LODGE is but a former shell of itself after an accidental fire claimed its upper stories on Monday. The owners, however, say they plan to resurrect it.

Antrim May Not
Be Lost Forever

ROSCOE — July 21, 2006 – The Antrim Lodge Hotel and Restaurant may be down, but it’s not out.
The Lodge, which caught fire Monday, completely lost its top two floors to the blaze.
Much of the debris from the third and fourth floors came crashing down onto the second, doing severe damage to that floor as well.
The ground floor was saved from the majority of the flames but has a significant amount of water damage.
The basement is still in usable condition, according to co-owner Diane Beveridge.
According to fire officials, the Roscoe blaze started in the southwest bedroom on the second floor. The cause is still unknown, but it is not considered suspicious.
Beveridge said Wednesday that she is still working with the insurance company, architect and the general contractor to find out the extent of the damage and the cost of repairs.
“It remains our hope to rebuild the Antrim and to keep this important piece of angling history alive,” Beveridge said.
