Hertha Hauber
Businesswoman, 82
Hertha Hauber of Thompsonville, a beloved mother and grandmother, departed this life in peace on Thursday, May 25, 2006. She was 82 years of age.
One of ten children born to Adolf Adelbert Franze, a porcelain craftsman and artist and Maria Theresa Schoniger Franze, a chef, Hertha was born December 4, 1923 in Schordorf, Germany. She was the widow of William Carl Hauber.
In Germany, Hertha bore many hats: she was an opera singer, a fashion trendsetter, a chef and gardener. In the States, she was a businesswoman for 30 years, renting apartments in the summer to her summertime patrons. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and all around good friend.
She is survived by two daughters, Annemarie Hauber-Williams and her husband, Evan J., of Rock Hill and Lucy M. Hauber of Cherry Valley, Calif.; one granddaughter, Niccole Anne Smith and her husband, Chad, of Endicott; three brothers, August, Otto, and Emil Franze, all of Germany; and several nieces and nephews in both Germany and the U.S. She was predeceased by a son, William Carl Hauber Jr.
Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown.

Bonnie A. Goergen of Westbrookville, owner of the Bonnie A. Goergen Insurance Agency in Otisville and a resident of the area since 1969, died Thursday, May 25, 2006 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus, Middletown. She was 62 years of age.
The daughter of the late Edward and Celia Leveene, she was born January 22, 1944 in Brooklyn.
She was known as the Insurance Lady and was proud to be married to her husband, Edward L. Goergen. She told everyone that they never had an argument in their 37 years of marriage.
She is survived by her husband Edward, a Deputy Sheriff who had worked for Suffolk County and Sullivan County Sheriffs Departments and who is an Honorary Deputy Sheriff in Orange County; and a sister, Phyllis Fields-Elias of the state of Florida.
Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in the Westbrookville Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are by the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis.
