CALLICOON — December 15, 2006 — A few years ago, Dennis Kahn moved his tackle store from Hankins to Callicoon.
And ever since the move, Kahn has been thrilled with his decision to move his business into Callicoon.
“In Hankins, we were just a tackle store and in the few years we have been here, we have done so much,” Kahn said with a smile.
The move Kahn chose to make has given him a larger store with a vast array of everything from fishing lures to clothing to hunting accessories and much more.
“The new store recently expanded even more,” Kahn said. “We have added more guns and ammo choices, we have made our fishing section even larger and just recently we have added a full line of clothing apparel for the outdoors person. We truly have become the one-stop shopping spot for the outdoorsman.
“Our guns section alone boasts over 100 guns, both new and used,” Kahn added. “We now offer anything an outdoorsperson may need from paintball to hand-tied fly fishing flies by Mike Bachkoski, who is a resident of the area. I am truly proud of our recent expansion and I am thrilled with everything we can now offer the area.”
Helping Kahn is area native and former gun shop owner George Lahm.
“I am so glad to have George on board with me,” Kahn said. “George has a vast amount of information and experience with guns and the outdoors and he is truly an asset to Catskill-Outdoor.”
Kahn reflected back to the flooding this past June and how his store keeps growing.
“The flood did hurt us a bit, but we picked up the pieces and we expanded the store,” he commented. “We have a great customer base and we are able to offer the community what they need when they need it and that is what is great about a local store being right here in Callicoon for the outdoorsperson.”
Catskill-Delaware Outdoor, which is located at 34 Audley Dorrer Drive, is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
