FOSTERDALE — More than 50 firemen from at least six fire companies responded to a blaze at Joe's Service Center, located on Route 17B, just east of Fosterdale.
The Wednesday blaze apparently started inside the garage and spread quickly.
Owned by Joe Salzone, the service center specialized in foreign and domestic repair, light trucks and offered NYS Inspections.
Firemen from Lake Huntington, White Lake, Jeffersonville, Hortonville, Kenoza Lake, Callicoon fire departments responded to the fire, which started around midday. Other companies also assisted in fighting the blaze.
Route 17B had to be closed for several hours while a portable tank was set up to give firemen the necessary water to fight the fire.
Fire tankers brought in the water from a nearby lake.
No injuries were reported.
