LIBERTY “I’ve been to more concerts than I care to admit before starting to work here,” said Bethel Woods’ new Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator Julie Goodman. She continued, “I’ve always been interested in music, I’m a music fan. I really believe in the mission of Bethel Woods and bringing arts to the community.”
Goodman was born in Liberty, is a Liberty HS grad and returned to Sullivan County, not only for the job opportunities that came up but also because “I love the area, and my family is still here.”
The daughter of Alan and Jodi Goodman, 24, graduated from the Quinnipiac University in Connecticut with Bachelor of Science in Marketing
Goodman’s first job was with the Monticello Casino and Raceway as Promotions Coordinator. She stayed there for 11⁄2 years, and then the new opportunity with Bethel Woods came up.
“I had two interviews, and started in January,” Goodman said. “It was a great opportunity for me to work in a non-profit.”
“I’m still finding my way,” admitted Goodman, part of a team busily preparing for the 2012 concert season.
According to a press release, “Goodman will be responsible for working in tandem with the Bethel Woods marketing team to execute both institutional and performance related public relations and media communication in order to create awareness for the Center. Additional duties include the design of creative event promotions and advertising opportunities that increase attendance and further the Center’s mission.”
Among Goodman’s future personal plans are finishing her Master in Business Administration degree at the Marist College in Poughkeepsie, and getting married in September to Jared Kaufman of Monticello.
“We’re grateful for this opportunity to retain the talented youth of Sullivan County,” said Matt McNeil, senior director of Marketing & Programming at Bethel Woods, in a statement. “Julie’s experience, education and in-depth knowledge of our community will make her an integral part of the Bethel Woods team.”
