Ella Jones of Yulan enjoys her first visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Santa and Mrs. Claus thrill the children

Story by Kaitlin Carney
YULAN/ELDRED — December 13, 2013 — Santa Claus paid a very special visit to the Town of Highland on December 7. His trip with Mrs. Claus was sponsored by the Town of Highland Lions and gave children of all ages the opportunity to tell Santa what was on their list.
Santa and Mrs. Claus gave out small toys and candy to their many visitors, starting at their first stop in Yulan – the Christmas Village. It features Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, and homes for Santa and his elves. The village is lit up at night for everyone to enjoy and take pictures in.
Santa and Mrs. Claus wanted to be sure to see as many of the children on the nice list as possible! They took a special ride aboard a Yulan Fire Department pumper to Peck’s Market in Eldred. There, Santa was able to visit even more children (and adults!) and spread some much needed Christmas cheer.
Santa and Mrs. Claus were happy to pose for pictures and meet all of their fans, and are looking forward to the rest of the Christmas season.
Santa and Mrs. Claus would like to thank John and Paulette Marciano for their help, as well as the Town of Highland Lions for sponsoring the day and the Yulan Fire Department for helping them to ride in style.
