This ‘t-bone’ wasn’t tasty

LIBERTY — September 20, 2013 — A crackup at the intersection of Main Street and Darbee Lane in Liberty on Friday sent a middle-aged woman to the hospital, left one vehicle totaled and the other with minor damage.
According to police the unlicensed female driver of a Nissan Maxima, headed north on Main Street, ran a red light and collided, t-bone style, with the side of a mid- sized Dodge Ram pickup headed east toward Chestnut street. The Dodge pickup had a trailer secured to it carrying a John Deere riding mower.
The Liberty Police Department was first to the scene, with MobileMedic arriving a short time later.
The female victim was transported to Catskill Regional Medical Center, and according to officers on the scene, was issued several tickets, including one for operating a motor vehicle without a license.
The driver of the Dodge Ram pickup truck refused medical care and left the scene under his own power.
Laureano Lebron witnessed the afternoon accident and said, “It looks like she just wasn’t paying attention. She never even slowed down. She just flew right through the [red] light.”
