Bruce Kaplan
Jan. 26, 1948-Dec. 28, 2009

Bruce Kaplan, 61, of Haines City, Florida and formerly of Woodridge, NY, passed away at his home suddenly on December 28, 2009.
The son of Meyer and Dorothy Kaplan of Woodridge, Bruce was born on January 26, 1948 in Monticello, NY.
Bruce was the former owner of The Lucky Strike Bar and My Guy repair services.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Sondra, at 2335 Crest Drive, Haines City, Florida 33844; his daughter Heather and her husband Allen Margulies and son Samuel, and his daughter, Amy; his brother Robert and his wife Merryl; his brother Phil and his wife Anne; and his brother Karl and his wife Raelynn; and many nieces and nephews.

Avril Papa

Avril Elizabeth Papa of Claryville died Monday, January 4, 2010 in the comfort of her own home. She was 80.
She was the daughter of Raymond and Mildred Greene Smith, born February 24, 1929 in New York City. She was the widow of Bruno, who she now joins in heaven.
Avril was a member of the Claryville Reformed Church and the Claryville Quilters. She volunteered many hours for the Townesman Newspaper, and was an active member of AARP in Sullivan County. She was a three-time winner of the 76 and over Relay For Life Organization.
Avril was a devoted and loving mother to her two sons who she leaves behind, Bruce and his fiancée Susan of Claryville, along with her two children Amanda and John, Barry and his wife Eve of New Fairfield, Conn., her children Christopher, Rachel, Stephanie, Zachary; Avril’s loving grandchildren, Shannon and Brendon; and one brother, Raymond Smith.
Funeral services were held Thursday at The Claryville Reformed Church, with the Rev. Paul Nulton officiating. Interment in the Claryville Reformed Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Avril’s name may be made to the Claryville Reformed Church.

William H. Fuller
Ret. Tunnel Worker, 83

William H. Fuller of Liberty died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris. He was 83.
The son of the late Pat and Mayola Fuller, he was born September 23, 1926 in Damascus, Georgia.
He worked in the tunnels in New York City and was a member of the Tunnel Workers Union #147 in New York City. He made Sullivan County his home for the last 55 years.
He leaves behind his sons, Aaron Fuller of Baltimore, Md., Thurmon Brooks of New York City, William Charles Fuller of Monticello, Dudley Fuller of Liberty, and Rickey Singleton of Syracuse; his daughter, Rachel Reeves Graves and her husband the Rev. Norman Graves of Liberty, Connie Paige and her husband Willie of Florida, and Femecia Riely and her husband Nathaniel of Savannah, Ga.; his brothers, Willie Arthur Fuller of Adel, Ga., and Aaron Fuller of Brunswick, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a daughter, Stephanie Bitjeman; a grandson, Spencer Graves; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church, South Main St., Liberty.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. at the church, with the Rev. Norman Graves officiating.
Funeral arrangements are by Ramsay’s Funeral Homes Inc., Liberty, NY.
