Dorothy M. Huggler
Ret. Secretary, 88

Dorothy M. Huggler of Liberty passed away at home on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 after a short battle with lung cancer, with members of her family at her side. She was 88.
Born in Wallkill, NY, on June 25, 1921, Dorothy was the daughter of the late George and Dora Marcinkowski. After graduating business school, she moved to Liberty where she lived for more than 60 years. She was the widow of Frank Huggler Jr. who predeceased her in 1978.
Dorothy was retired from the Liberty Central School District Business Office and had also worked in the Town of Liberty Clerk’s office. She was a Communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church; a member of St. Peter’s Rosary Society and Court Mary Anthony #883, Catholic Daughters of America. Throughout her life, she expressed a deep love and caring for the less fortunate and needy children of the world. She had also been actively involved as a member and officer in the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, the Interfaith Council, and the Association of Educational Secretaries.
Survivors include her two sons, Jeffrey Huggler and his wife Debra of Grahamsville and Timothy Huggler and his wife Victoria of Ashburn, VA; two grandchildren, Erik Huggler and Jeanette Huggler of Ashburn, VA; her brother, George Marcinkowski of Pine Bush, NY; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010 at Ramsay’s Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St., Liberty, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 264 N. Main St. Liberty, with Monsignor Edward Straub officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Liberty following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
