Raymond W. Porter
Carpenter, 86

Raymond Porter of Hurleyville, NY, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010.
Raymond was born the son of Edo and Lula Terwilliger Porter in Hurleyville on October 1, 1923.
Raymond is a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will truly be missed by all.
Raymond served his country in the Korean conflict from September 1946 to March 1948. He was a carpenter and took much pride in informing everyone he built his home in the summer of 1953. He and his wife moved in on Thanksgiving Day and made it home for “his girls” whom he loved dearly. He loved to make them laugh and tell them stories of growing up on the Porter Homestead with his brothers, sisters and friends.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, along with his brothers Douglas, Stanley, Bernard and Richard, and his sister Eleanor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Edith S. Porter; sisters Eloise Porter of Hurleyville and Dorothy Hessinger and her husband Walter of Cody WY; brother Cliff Porter of Hurleyville; daughters, Carol Bridges and husband Robert of Smithville Flats, NY, Peggy Winchell and husband James of Stone Ridge, NY, and Susan DeMestrio and husband Antonio of Rock Hill, NY; granddaughters Heather Weller and husband Roger of Canon City, Colo., Christina DeMestrio of Rock Hill, and Cheyanne Edwards of Stone Ridge; grandsons, Michael and Steven DeMestrio of Rock Hill and Ryan Edwards of Stone Ridge; great-granddaughter Valerie Weller of Canon City, Colo.; great-grandson Austin Weller of Canon City, Colo.; also many nieces and nephews; along with his faithful companion “Skylar.”
Ray fought a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s and will be sadly missed.
A memorial service was held July 22, 2010 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home with James Kaufman. Interment was made in the Hurleyville Cemetery.  
In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make a donation to either the Alzheimer’s Association or the Hurleyville United Methodist Church.

Marianne Kubenik, 56

Marianne Kubenik of Kenoza Lake passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at home.
She was predeceased by her brother, John Kubenik.
She is survived by her parents who cared for her all her life for 56 years, Henry and Anna Kubenik; two brothers, Henry Kubenik and his wife Elizabeth Kubenik, Eric Kubenik and his wife Christine Kubenik; two sisters, Anna Kubenik Niemann, Beatrice Kubenik Erlwein and her husband Gary Erlwein; several nieces and nephews including Jared and Melissa Kubenik, Nicole and Andrew Menges, Amanda and Kristen Niemann, Steve Gaebel, Hope Erlwein, and Cody and Jordan Kubenik; also many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 5068 Route 52, Jeffersonville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. George’s Catholic Church in Jeffersonville.
Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Youngsville.
