Peter J. Congelosi
Horse Dealer, 67

Peter J. “Pete” Congelosi passed away Tuesday morning, November 23, 2010 at his home in Monticello after a brief illness. He was 67.
Pete attended Washingtonville School and moved to Monticello in 1978. His passion in life was horses, he loved the art of a horse deal and had been a horse dealer since the age of 16. Throughout the years, he owned and operated Pine Creek Riding Stable, bred and trained thoroughbred racehorses and most recently opened Breezeway Farm Petting Zoo. Pete will always be remembered for his acts of kindness and generosity to those in need and his love for his family. He surrounded himself with a very large network of close friends, from his cowboy buddies, his breakfast club at Tilly’s, lunch crew at Blanche’s, to his very large extended family. Pete will be fondly remembered for his Scrabble prowess, crossword puzzle expertise and love for animals and children.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary Norden Congelosi; his daughter Christine Lulla and her husband Stephen of Cambridge, NY, and their children Elijah and Deanna; his daughter Michelle Orsenio and her husband Joe of Monmouth, NJ, and their daughter Aly; his son Michael Congelosi and his wife Michele of Montgomery, NY, and their daughter Sarah; his brother Anthony “Rusty” Congelosi and his wife Annette of Rock Tavern, NY; his brother Paul Congelosi and his wife Theresa and their children Anthony and Katie. He was predeceased by his first wife Deanna Suplina Congelosi.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday November 28 at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, NY.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, November 29 at St. George’s Church, Jeffersonville with Father Ignatius Vu officiating.

Wendy H. Francees, 51
June 22, 1959 – November 22, 2010

Wendy Helene Francees of Homestead, Fla., formerly of Hurleyville, entered into rest on Monday, November 22, 2010 in Hurleyville, surrounded by family and friends. She was 51.
Daughter of Gary Charnow and the late Saundra Bockman Charnow, she was born June 22, 1959 in Ellenville and grew up in Hurleyville before moving to Homestead, Florida.
Wendy was employed by the United States Postal Service in Homestead, Fla. She was an avid bingo player and a volunteer with the VFW among other things. Wendy will be remembered as a thoughtful and giving person who was always there to offer help to others. She was a wonderful, strong willed, inspiring daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Francees; daughter Gillian Armstrong and granddaughter Kaylee Armstrong, all of Homestead, Fla.; her father, Gary Charnow of Hurleyville; her brother, Jody Charnow and his wife Ruth of Cherry Hill, NJ; her sister, Dana Schmidt and her husband Jim of Hurleyville; nephew Michael Schmidt and his wife Lisa; nieces Amber Schmidt and Alexandra Charnow; uncles: Sheldon Bockman of Atlanta, Ga., Albee Bockman and his wife Gina of Hurleyville; and her aunt Flora Bockman of Liberty.
Wendy was loved by many, here and in Homestead. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her family would like thank, Hospice for their support in her final days.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.

Ronald J. Cucci
Retired NYS Inspector, 78

Ronald J. Cucci of Callicoon, a longtime resident of the area, passed away Monday, November 22, 2010, at home. He was 78.
The son of Joseph Cucci and Catherine Fisher Cucci, he was born July 19, 1932 in Callicoon, NY.
Ronnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed by all.
Survivors include his wife Norma; children: Richard Cucci and wife Daryl, David Cucci, and daughter Nancy Cucci Milk and husband Telford; four grandsons, Chris and Ryan Milk and wife Lindsey, and Brett and Nick Cucci; one great-grandson, Keegan James Milk; several nieces and nephews; one sister, Barbara Gohde and one uncle, Walter Cucci and wife Evelyn.
Ronald served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He was employed by the state of New York as a state inspector, and retired in 1987. He started out as a fireman in Hortonville, NY, and later transferred to Callicoon. He was a member of the VFW Allen Milk Memorial Post; and president and member of the Tamarack Hunting Club for many years. He was fire chief of the Callicoon Fire Dept. on two different occasions. He was a fire commissioner of the Callicoon Fire District as well as president. He was a frequent visitor at Lander’s River Mart in the mornings with his dog Gracie. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, November 26 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Callicoon. A Fire Service and VFW Service will be held from 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 27 at Holy Cross Church in Callicoon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Elsie Norris
Homemaker, 96

Elsie C. Norris of Brooksville, Fla. died Monday, November 15, 2010 at Brooksville Regional Hospital. She was 96.
She was born in Liberty, NY, and came to the Brooksville area 20 years ago from Montgomery, NY.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and The First United Methodist Church in Brooksville.
Preceded in death by her husband, E. Lynn Norris; father, Benjamin R. Gerow; mother, Angeline M. Wheeler; and 12 siblings, survivors include her daughter, Elsie Eltz of Sherrill, NY; son, Eugene L. Norris of Fayetteville, Ga; brothers, William Gerow of Chicago, Ill., Robert Gerow of Livingston Manor, NY, and Henry Gerow of Winter Park, Fla.; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at a later date.
