Paul A.D. Bihler
Retired Contractor, 94

Paul A.D. Bihler, loving husband, father and great-grand-father, passed away Monday, December 6, 2010 at University Hospital, Tamarac, Florida.
Paul was 94 years old, born October 1st, 1916 to Arnold D.H. and Katherine M. Bihler in Bronx, NY.
A graduate of DeWitt Clinton High School and Crawford Memorial Methodist Church’s youth group leader, he married Eunice W. Schwager on September 15, 1940. They moved to Kenoza Lake, NY, in 1943, and raised 3 sons, Richard, Glen, and Wayne. Paul and Eunice were happily married for 68 years and two months, as Dad would say.
Paul was an electrical, plumbing and heating contractor and partner in The Electric Shop in Jeffersonville, NY. He actively served the community as a volunteer fireman and Secretary/Treasurer for the Kenoza Lake Volunteer Fire Department, and also serving as a trustee for the Kenoza Lake Cemetery Association. In 1969 they bought a condo in Sunrise, Fla. and became snowbirds via the auto train during the 1980s. In 1991 they moved permanently to their snowbird condo in Sunrise, Fla. Paul volunteered for the president’s position of the condominium association where they lived in Sunrise. In 1997 they moved to Kings Point Weldon retirement community in Tamarac, Fla. They volunteered to oversee the grounds upkeep for the building where they lived.
Paul is survived by three sons, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Eunice, his parents, two sisters, a brother, and a granddaughter.

Stanley Posluszny
Retired Financial Advisor, 78

Stanley Posluszny of New Milford, New Jersey and White Sulphur Springs, NY, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2010, at the age of 78. He was a retired financial advisor with UBS in Paramus, NJ.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Sindelar Posluszny, with whom he was planning to retire to White Sulphur Springs; a son, Steven of New Milford, NJ; a daughter, Patricia Salomon of Boca Raton, Fla.; grandchildren, Steven, Douglas, Kristen, Joseph and Richard Posluszny; five great-grandchildren; niece Rosemary Posluszny of Maywood, NJ; and siblings Edward, Gloria, Eleanor, Dolores. He was predeceased by a brother, Theodore.
Mr. Posluszny was past-president of the New Milford River Edge Rotary Club.
He was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, December 21 at the Boulevard Funeral Home, 1151 River Road, New Milford, NJ (cor. of New Bridge Road).
A Funeral Mass will then be offered at 9:30 a.m. at Ascension R.C. Church, New Milford.
Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Hackensack, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ascension R.C. Church, 256 Azalea Drive, New Milford, NJ 07646 or the Sullivan County SPCA, PO Box 995, Rock Hill, NY 12775.

John Francis Dirig
Logger and Farmer, 86

John Francis Dirig of French Woods died on December 19, 2010, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, after a sudden illness. He was 86.
He was born on September 5, 1924 in French Woods, the son of Benjamin and Mary Catherine (Peake) Dirig. He married Marjorie Maxson on July 11, 1948 at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Callicoon. She predeceased him on December 16, 2002.
Francis was a member of the Holy Cross Church in Callicoon. He was a logger and a farmer all of his life and he was a great husband, father, and friend.
Surviving are 5 children, Robert, Rodney and wife Dianne, Bette and husband Patrick O’Brien, John and wife Denise, and Matthew and wife Sharon, 5 grandsons, David, Adam, Patrick, Jonathan, Shane, and Ryan, and 3 great granddaughters, Amanda, Aria, and Juliette. Also surviving are 3 sisters, Mary and husband Ed Willis, Sister Helen Dirig, and Barbara Dirig, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 4 brothers, Henry, Joe, Quintin, and Father Benjamin, and 1 sister, Catherine Barron.
Calling hours will be held on December, 22, 2010 from 4-7 p.m. at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Holy Cross Church, Callicoon, with Father Ignatius officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Francis DeSales Cemetery, French Woods.
Memorial donations can be made in Francis’ memory to the Hancock Rescue Squad. Arrangements by Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.

Freda Engert Robisch, 102

Freda Engert Robisch, 102, of Callicoon, died Monday, December 20, 2010 at home.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Callicoon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23 at the funeral home.
