Anna "Anne" Vuono
Ret. Bank Teller, 88

Anna “Anne” Vuono of Liberty, NY, a retired bank teller and lifelong area resident, died Monday, January 5, 2009 at the Achieve Rehab and Nursing Facility, Liberty. She was 88.
The daughter of the late John and Mary Wahrkaulac Kurpil, she was born May 20, 1920 in Parksville, NY.
Anne grew up in Parksville, andshe, with her brothers and sisters, walked to a one-room schoolhouse for their schooling. After school and during the summers she worked at hotels. In 1937 she was the Village of Liberty Bowling Champion. She had attended St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Liberty.
Survivors include her son, Joseph J. Vuono of Monticello, NY; four brothers, Sam Kurpil, Andrew Kurpil, and Peter Kurpil, all of Liberty, and Stephen Kurpil of Florida; three sisters, Eva Sasnowitz of Raleigh, NC, Josie DeVoe of Livingston Manor, NY, and Katie Somesla of Fairfield, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Mudry and Rose Brown, and by two brothers, Charles and Nicholas Kurpil.
Funeral services were private.
