Carl F. Esselmann
Retired Dairy Farmer, 82

Carl F. Esselmann, a lifetime resident of Kenoza Lake, and retired Dairy Farmer and former employee of the Town of Delaware Highway Department, entered into rest on February 14, 2009 in Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 82.
The son of Frederick and Helen Hust Esselmann, he was born May 18, 1926 in Kenoza Lake, NY.
Carl was a member of the Kenoza Lake Fire Company for over 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Allgeier Esselmann, at home; one son, Douglas Esselmann of New York City, NY; one daughter, Marian Hosking and her husband David of White Sulphur Springs, NY; one sister, Betty Girrbach and her husband Oscar of Kenoza Lake; two grandchildren, Allison Hosking and Amy Hosking; nieces and nephews, John Girrbach, Bonnie Boyd, David Girrbach, Maureen Steine and Timothy Hubert; and beloved friend Frederick Haas and his wife Debbie.
He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Susan Marie Esselmann; and by a nephew, Fred Hubert.
Visitation was held Monday, February 16 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, NY.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 17 at the funeral home with the Pastor Brigette LeConey officiating.
Burial will be made in Calvary Cemetery, Youngsville, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kenoza Lake Fire Co. or to the Jeffersonville Volunteer First Aid Squad.

Helen Caro
January 5, 1917-February 12, 2009

Long time Sullivan County resident Helen Caro died peacefully Thursday after a short illness at the home of her daughter in Bend, OR,
The daughter of Morris and Bertha Greenspan of Harris, she was the widow of local businessman Raymond Caro. Mrs. Caro was active in community affairs and a former Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Thompson.
She is survived by her sons Dennis of Mountaindale and Marshall of Greenwich CT, her daughter Wendy, and four grandchildren.

Shirley Louise Hartz

Shirley Louise Hartz, 85, of Vestal, NY, died Saturday, February 14, 2009 in DeBary, FL. Born in Callicoon, NY, she was a retired State Employment Manager for the State of New York. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Peake of Lake Helen, FL, and a niece, Sharron Peake of Middletown, OH. Lankford Funeral Home in DeLand, FL is in charge of arrangements.
