Nancy Woodger, 47

Nancy Lynn Halloran Woodger, 47, passed away suddenly at her home in Winter Park, FL on Sunday, February 8, 2009.
Born in Poughkeepsie, NY on November 18, 1961, Nancy was the daughter of Caroline and Thomas Halloran. She was a 1979 graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School and a 1983 graduate of SUNY Albany. During both her high school and college years, Nancy was actively involved in several sports.
After graduating from college, Nancy entered the Air Force Officers Training Program in Texas and was commissioned a 2nd lieutenant in June, 1984. She then served at several bases for the next seven years, earned a masters degree in logistics and retired with the rank of captain in 1991. For the past several years she worked as a senior purchasing agent for the city of Boca Raton, FL and Orange County, FL.
In May, 2003, Nancy married the love of her life and best friend, E. James Woodger, in Winter Park, FL. They enjoyed their many friends, their pets, motorcycling, their families, their home and loved their life together.
She was a member of the B.P.O.E. 1079, Orlando, FL, and a lifetime member and senior officer of the Casselberry Veterans and Auxiliary Inc., serving also as a senior member of the Caretakers Motorcycle Enthusiasts Division. Nancy was involved in all fund-raising events related to the above mentioned clubs, donating her time and energy to anything that came about.
Her hobbies include motorcycles and related events, RV camping, sporting events, her own backyard and pool, and most of all, her pets. Her enthusiasm for life and caring ways will always be remembered by her family and her many friends and acquaintances.
Survivors include her husband, Jim, of Winter Park; her parents, of Poughkeepsie; and her mother-in-law, Kathleen Woodger, of Winter Park. She is also survived by a brother, Kevin Halloran of Milton, NY; sisters Suzanne Knapp and husband, Dennis, of Highland, NY and Colleen Elliott of Goshen, KY; a daughter, Melissa Odom and husband, Corey, of Port St. Lucie, FL and a son, Ryan Woodger, of Springfield, MA. Additional survivors are nieces Christina and Briana Powlis, Ashley and Lauren Elliott; nephews Kevin Powlis Jr., Nicholas Elliott and Cayden Irizarry; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the Howell Branch Chapel of the Collison Family Funeral Home in Winter Park, FL.
Memorial donations may be made to Casselberry Veterans, Inc. and Auxiliary, 200 Concord Drive, Casselberry, FL 32707.

Gail O'Connell, 72

Gail Lucille Weber O’Connell, age 72, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009 at her home following a short illness where she was cared for by her husband, daughter, Debby Janowski and friends Carol & John McCaskey of Sumter, SC.
She was born to Eva and John Weber in Yulan, New York on March 26, 1936. Until recently, Gail was a lifelong resident of Yulan and Narrowsburg.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert R. Case.
She leaves behind her husband of 33 years, Edward J. O’Connell of Sumter, S.C.; sons, Allen Taylor of St. Cloud, MN; James O’Connell and his wife Karen of Elizabethtown, KY; Edward O’Connell, Jr. and his wife Lori of Clewiston, FL.; Leonard O’Connell and his wife Angie of Walterboro, S.C.; daughter, Debby Janowski of Hawley, Pa., and daughter-in-law, MaryRose Case and friend of the family, William Falk of Narrowsburg; her grandchildren, who were the light of her life include, Michelle Krzemieniecki, Danielle Case, Amanda O’Connell, and Nicole Lindsey; sisters, Jeanette Kennedy of Evans City, Pa. and friend of the family Ron Cahall of Evans City, Pa., Christy Thompson and her husband Bill of Yulan, Virginia Donahue of Hamilton, Montana; and brothers, Roger Weber and his wife Ruth of Binghamton, Fred Weber and his wife Dorothy of Florida, and David Weber and his wife Marie of Yulan.
A graveside memorial service to honor her life and the things that she loved, the Jersey Shore, the boardwalk, the ocean, her friends, and most of all her family, will be held at the family’s convenience in Beaverbrook.

Laura Peterson, 54

Laura Petterson, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on the morning of February the 21st, 2009 to rest eternally in Heaven.
Laura was born in New York City on February 11, 1955, the daughter of the late Mr. Harry Frank Petterson and Lilly Barr Petterson. Laura later resided in Jeffersonville, NY, with her ever-devoted family.
She will forever be loved and remembered by her mother Lilly of Jeffersonville, sister April Olsen, and brother Ron Petterson, nieces Alana Olsen Schultz and Emily Bernthal, and nephew Jared Petterson, all of North Carolina.
May our dear Angel Laura, who touched so many lives, rest in peace.
A private service will be held at the home on Wednesday, February 25, 2009.
Contributions may be made to the local ARC, where Laura was a dedicated client for many years.
