Eleanor ‘Babe’ Atkins
Eleanor Libby Theadore Atkins, 82, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 26, 2009 at Catskill Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
She was born December 11, 1926 to William John and Elsie Mae Henry Theadore in Buck Brook, NY. She married Victor Elmer Atkins on June 6, 1948. He predeceased her on November 1, 1967.
After 25-years as Back Tap Assigner and Assignment Clerk, she retired from the New York Telephone Company, now Verizon, on July 31, 1989. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Dutch Reformed Church of North Branch.
During World War II, Eleanor registered Buck Brook residents for food rationing coupon books and was an airplane spotter. She was a 4-H member and 20-year 4-H leader. She collected donations for the Alzheimer’s Association in the Liberty area.
Eleanor was very proud of the hard work she did in keeping her adopted portion of Neversink Road litter free.
She is survived by her son, Craig E. Atkins and his wife Mary Ann of Liberty; her daughter, Victoria E. Robinson and her husband, David of Rock Hill; grandchildren: Charles Victor Atkins of Youngstown, Ohio, and Rebecca Elmira, and Caroline Eleanor Robinson of Rock Hill; and her best friend, “Mama Kitty,” at home. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, her husband; and by siblings: William, John, George, Evelyn Brustman, and Clara Atkins.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 30 at Ramsay’s Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St., Liberty, NY, with Pastor Robert Pinto officiating. Burial was made in the Heavenly Rest Cemetery in North Branch, NY.

Rena P. Will
Co-owner Will Hardware, 82
Rena P. Will of Livingston Manor entered into rest on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 82.
The daughter of the late Worden and Rena Nutt Pherreigo, she was born January 15, 1927 in Horton, NY.
Rena was co-proprietor of Will Hardware in Livingston Manor. Her greatest love was going camping in their motor home and spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, George, at home, to whom she was married for 61 years; two sons, George Will and his wife Diane, and Paul Will and his wife Sherri, all of Livingston Manor; four grandchildren: Steven, David, Jason, and Brian Will; three great-grandchildren: Marissa, Lucas and Cameryn Will; one niece, Diane of Arizona; and several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Victor Pherreigo; and her step-father, Claude Gabdois.
Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. on Friday, July 3, at Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl St., Livingston Manor, NY 12758, with services to follow at 2 p.m. Rev. Nancy Asbury will officiate. Interment will be at Orchard Street Cemetery, Livingston Manor, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rena’s name may be made to the Roscoe Community Nursing Home, 420 Rockland Road, Roscoe, NY 12776.
