Meta M. Fischer
Homemaker, 93

Meta M. Fischer of North Branch, NY, a homemaker and a lifetime resident of the area, died Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, Pa. She was 93.
The daughter of the late William J. and Anna L. Tietjen Klinger, she was born July 15, 1916 in North Branch.
She was the widow of Christian F. Fischer. They were the first couple married in the Grace Lutheran Church on March 27, 1938.
She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in North Branch, and Cornell Cooperative Extension. She was a former Town of Callicoon Election Clerk, and a 65-year treasurer of the North Branch Frauen Verein.
She is survived by one daughter, Meta Sorge of North Branch; grandchildren, Lorena Peters, and Michael Sorge; and great-grandchildren Scott, Nicholas and Cody Olsen.
She was predeceased by a brother, William O. Klinger; and a grandson-in-law, Howard Peters.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009 at Grace Lutheran Church in North Branch with Pastor Kit Robison officiating.
Burial was made in the North Branch Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, c/o Buffy Chafee, North Branch, NY 12766 or to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh NY 12550.
Arrangements were made by Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, NY.

Allen Saul Siegel,74
Formerly of Rockland Cty., NY

Allen Saul Siegel of Santa Monica, CA, passed away July 24, 2009 at his home in which he’d lived for the past 10 years. He was born Jan. 12, 1935 to the late Joseph and Ida Blumberg Siegel in Liberty, NY, former owners of the M&S Steam Laundry in Ferndale, NY.
Allen graduated from Liberty High School, Buffalo Dental School, and lived and practiced in Rockland County for many years.
Allen lived an adventurous life full of travel, creativity, and strong personal opinions.
He was blessed with his family, his loving wife of 49 years, Ina; daughters, Josana Medney (Cliff) and Lauren Siegel; son Matthew Siegel (Jody); four granddaughters, Hannah, Jessie, Sydney, and Sophie; his loving sisters, Tillie Seiden and Sarah Monzo; niece, Denise Watson; nephews, Ronald Monzo, and Monroe and Stephen Zalkin; great-nephew, Todd Kurpil; and great-nieces, Morgan, Chauncey, and Karlene Zalkin.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother Abraham.
His Spirit Watches over all of us.

Julianna Simonet
Dental Assistant, 31

Julianna Simonet of Narrowsburg, NY, a dental assistant and a longtime resident of the area, was taken too soon on Saturday, September 5, 2009, in a car accident in Narrowsburg.
The daughter of the late Richard John Noble and Marie Noble, she was born March 31, 1978 in Miami, Fla. She was 31.
Julianna was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Narrowsburg. She was an assistant coach for AYSO soccer.
A family statement reads: “Julianna was a terrific and loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was like a shooting star, she shined very brightly and for too short of a time! She was a loving mother to four children. She will greatly be missed by her family and all that knew her.”
Survived by her husband, Jason Simonet; her two children, Jordan and Cameron Sullivan; her two stepdaughters, Haley and Hannah Simonet; her mother, Marie Noble; her paternal grandmother, Dora Noble; her maternal grandmother, Julia Nahay; three brothers, Rick Noble, Scotty Noble, and Nicholas Charles Noble; her mother and father-in-law, Nancy and Jeffrey Simonet; and numerous uncles and aunts.
She was predeceased by her father, Richard John Noble.
Friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2009 at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, Narrowsburg.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 11 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Narrowsburg. Cremation will follow at Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, Pa.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rasmussen Funeral Home, Narrowsburg, NY.

John William Noren
Radio Dispatcher, 53

John William Noren unexpectedly passed away after an illness on August 28, 2009 at his home in Cape Coral, Florida. He was 53 years old. A funeral service was held in Cape Coral on August 31st.
John relocated to the sunny state of Florida over 20 years ago. He was a very dedicated radio dispatcher for Sea Tow in Lee County where his calm but commanding voice came to the aid of many sea goers in the area.
John was predeceased by a sister, Eva Marie Lemos, in 1998, and is survived by his mother, Barbara Dutcher Berberich of Glens Fork, Ky.; father, John Noren of Neversink; brothers, Bill of Rochester, Jessie Norden and Joe Noren, both of Neversink; sisters Marie Graham of Georgia and Eva Gorton of Hancock.
He was interred in his grandfather William Dutcher’s plot in Orchard Street Cemetery in Livingston Manor on Saturday, September 5.
